Today was the first day at my new job working at the Mountain Lakes Market, probably the most popular restaurant in my town. It's kind of a deli-restaurant-wine salon hybrid all in one. Anyway, I was lucky to get a job there since, technically, I'm underage to work there, but that's why it's always great to have connections. I have to say I was pretty dang nervous, considering I've never done anything so big. After being shown around the kitchen and the rest of the set-up, Jimmy, who, if I may say, is one of helluva cool guy, showed me how to make a couple of the special sandwiches, which as he said, "...Are a real pain in the ass to make..." I suppose, lucky for me, my whole damn high school didn't decide to flood into the place like they usually do. The last thing I needed was half the people who know me trying to get me to get them free food... Anyway, today was pretty lax, so me, Jimmy, and Sarah, who all work the deli counter, basically sat around getting to know each other for the whole time. Eventually, when it was time to start cleaning up, I had to wrap up all the meats, cheeses, and other foods, as well as put everything else in the walk-in freezer. After that, I swept and mopped up half the restaurant, and then waited another half hour to close up shop. All in all, I'm really excited to keep working there, everyone was really nice and it seems like a really fun job. I work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday, from 3:00 to 6:00 on the week days, with catering on weekends. I make $7.50/hour, so maybe now I can afford a lot more games! ...right after I get a car! Of course, this, coupled with schoolwork, might cut down a lot of my activity on GS, but don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!
