PS3 had 7 if i remember correctly but that was never taken advantage of so to me this is great but at the same time why would support that many controllers when you can only do so much with the feature?

Super Mario 3D will boost sales for the Wii U in December and for sure i don't doubt their ability to keep up but it will be a tough battle for Nintendo..I guess they might keep up with the XBOX One but the PS4 is looking mighty as of right now
