Backordered. Out of stock. Empty shelves.
Isn't that what you're supposed to encounter only when shopping for a Nintendo Wii??? Well, evidently not. You see, I drove to my Gamestop and I could tell, without even asking an employee, that they had no PS3's in stock. Likewise, when I felt the fire of determination and perseverance burning in my eyes and mind and decided to drive to Best Buy, a place I'd never driven to on my own before today, it was there again that I encountered a distinct lack of fruit for my labor. Granted, I can't blame people. Between the GDC inciting newfound or reignited interest in Sony's console and a series of stellar game releases - of which we're currently smack in the middle, right between FFXIII and God of War 3 - how could I have been so delirious as to think all I needed to do was drive a few minutes after work to my one and only Gamestop of the last ten years, smile at the employee, and ask for my shiny black reward. That'd be too simple!
What I feel like doing to all the people that bought what could have been "my" PS3 (j/k j/k ^ ^ )
Fo' reals, everyone - and I mean everyone - does not have a single Playstation 3 in stock. You name a store, I called them, and they don't have any PS3's. It's kinda ridiculous, actually.
Of course, the worst part of it is that I have no idea how long it will be like this. So much for the prompt culmination of a week's worth of research and feverish excitement. *sigh* But you know, on the bright side, now I have the chance to come up with a really cool PS3 ID. I am trying my hardest to shy away from using DrummerMG131 or any variant of such.
