Ive been writing reader reviews since I subscribed in 2002 and I've been seeing my older reviews disappear. It looks like my PS1 reviews from 2002 are gone for example, but it seems the deletions have to do with how old they are. What's the official word on this please? If there's some GS policy in the "Terms" I'd like to know what it is for future reference. thanks

that is ine of the few features I would like to have that GS doesnt currently offer. I'd be very happy if I could ignore bad reader reviewers for example. genuinely good idea.

a very great idea -- however it should be said though that several years ago when there was a rating system for reader reviews it caused folks to create loads of free gamespot accounts.  Then the free accounts were used to increase both positive and negative votes.  It was a mess and it wasnt GS's fault.  Then they dumped the whole thing and reader reviews are simply listed in date order.

I suspect something like this would happen all over again if GS institutes any system that makes some reader reviews appear at the top of the reader review pages.

just go to bluesnews for constant gaming news updates.  page loads faster than GS too because its almost all text.  GS is great for reviews but for news GS simply publishes official press release crud.

Some GS users like me wish everyone on GS has to be at least 16 and also prove their age with a credit card.  There's way way way too much under-age posting at Gamespot.  There are clearly 10 year olds posting.

Racy ads are everywhere including TV and road signs so I cant blame GS for posting these ads.  Its everywhere and unavoidable unless you live in a cave on the side of a mountain in the middle of nowhere  :)

We need the mods but they err.  To suggest as some here that they are always kind and perfect and just is not a reasonable statement to make.  That's like saying all police are perfect.

The point of the TS is to prevent flamewars and spam.  Without mods both of these would be way out of control on Gamespot.  I thank the mods for that.

On the other hand I'm not a flamer or spammer so I find the TS a bit fascist.  I prefer to post on eurogamer which is a choice I make.  Others can decide where to post too.

P.S. I've seen far too many folks modded for bumping when the mods should have simply left it alone. As long as the bumps arent out of hand, bumping serves a legitimate purpose.  The TS could use some revision on that point.

We need the mods no question about that (!) but not all mods are good mods.  I've been with GS since the first mods appeared and believe me there were several who went on power trips. It took quite a while to get them booted from their mod status too.  That isnt to say we dont need the mods or the TS. We do.  Like I said before its a choice to post and no one is forcing anyone to partcipate in the forums. If it isnt fun to participate with posts, dont do it.

It doesnt help that there seem to be lots of posters with free accounts who are younger than they are saying they are (pre-teens who shouldnt be allowed on the forums at all).  It clearly effects the quality of the forum discussions.

I agree but I dont think there's a whole lot  GS users can do about any of this practically speaking.   I still read the forums but only sporadically post and you might want to think about doing something like that too if you are getting frustrated with the mods and the TS policy for the forums.  Of course, some mods every year shouldnt be mods and that's a problem that never seems to get fixed at gamespot.

I see that my PS1 reviews from a few years go (and others' reviews too) aren't there anymore but more recently posted reader reviews are there.  Was there an editorial decision to delete PS1 reviews that were older than a certain date?
