I think it's fairly common and extremely annoying. Happened with the deer with me too. I think leaving the area for a bit and randomly running around helps though not much. 

I'm playing through for a second time on my Xbox360 on a higher difficulty and was wondering ifusing any of the cheats will block my achivements? I have seen this happening in a few games so want ed to confirm before taking the plunge.
