I had the same problem. I am using a Sprint air card and had to bridge the connection. I am using the wired connection with a NON nintendo LAN adapter and a crossover cale. What I had to do was go in to my network connections and disable the firewall on all internet connections. I will leave it this way when I want to use the wii online. When the Wii is not online then you can just turn on the Main firewall and you should be fine. I have been messing with this since november so I am glad I FINALLY have closure. Hope this helps you out!

I Figured it out!!!! It was in my network firewall settings. I did not know that each setting had its own set of firewall settings. My wired connection is working after turning off each part of my network bridge firewall. I hope this helps others with the same problem

I am having the same problem. I am using a wired connection with a NON nintendo LAN adapter and a cossover cable. I have tried a reg cat 5 cable and it did not work. I call Nintendo and they say it is the LAN adapter not being one made by nintendo. I should also mention that our internet is a broadband Air card so that creates a whole other set of issues.

All I want to do is open the wii shop channel so I can add my point card and get some Download tracks for rock band 2. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was told I can get a Cradle point which takes the broadband signal and coverts it to wi-fi.

We have a WIRED connection from our older (non Wi-Fi) laptop to our Wii. We have a USB LAN adapter and a 12FT Crossover cable. Our internet connection is through a Sprint Air card. I purchased a Wii Points card in hopes of dowloading some songs for RockBand 2. I have downloaded ONE free song and when I went to activate my Wii points on the Wii Shop channel I get a connection error. I do a Connection test and it passes, BUT as soon as I leave the connection test and open the wii Shop channel The Blue light on the lan adapter goes out and then under connection Properties it says a cable is unplugged. It seems like the Console is shutting off the power to the LAN adapter for a second and then the Error message pops up.

I called nintendo support and they said it was not possible to connect a laptop with a Sprint Air card to the Wii but I have been able to look up the News Channel and download a Rockband song so the answer they gave was not correct.

I can connect to ALL Wii Channels but Wii Shop Channel and it gives me a connection error message. I have tried connecting at all diff hours of the day and Night with no sucess.

I have been told to get a Router. Someone else told me to get a Cradle point and that should work, He also has a SPRINT air-card and his wireless connection works fine. I am not wanting to spend the cost of another wii just to be able to connect the one I have.
