yeah its vista im afraid, i have 2 systems, xp runs stalker beautifully, while on vista the frame rate sucks, had to turn everything to low and set it at 800x600 just to be playable on vista, got settings on med/high on a similar pc running xp!
go to vilvderin or something like that, its just below the imperial waterfront on the map, kill the person in there and youll get some good armour and weapon
