So as i speak the GDC conference for the new system Onlive has finished.
I have to praise Steve first of all on his fantastic presentation, and how they kept this a secret for this long. Thoughts off the bat are this is the death of console gaming. Really to be honest, most gamers have Internet and are online, which is needed to play with Onlive. This really must scare the crap into Sony, Nintendo and Microsoftbut to be fairthis idea is fantastic, it is easy, cheap and brings you games from all platforms.
Yes this still all seems like a dreamcometrue(i think thats what they said anyway lol)the biggest kick in the balls though was the fact that the target market at the moment is just the US. Being in the UK waiting all night to see the presentation that was a bit of a pain hearing that we would have to wait. But with that, what these guys have created even if it stayed in the US is huge this is technology at it's peak.
Being able to turn crappy laptops and TVs into high performance gaming systems that can run Crysis at the click of a button is just outstanding, no wonder it took seven years. No installs, no going to stores to buy game disks, no looking after CDs, no buying three different consoles, no high performance PCs to buy, no nothing! It is just brilliant.
I think that what was just shown was nothing of what people expected! I only wish i could have a chance to check one out at GDC, but we will have to wait.
The only problem was that the menu screen was so ugly i hated looking at it. But i suppose with all the games you could play it won't bother anyone!
OnLive = THE FUTURE OF GAMING
