It's been like 8 months since I last cleaned my pc. Is my GPU failing?

GPU has an idle temperature of around 65°C. I think it goes to around 80-85°C when gaming. Are those temperatures too high?

This has been happening for a while now. When I try and play bad company 2 in medium to high settings monitor just goes black after a few minutes. The game plays fine with stable framerates until monitor turns off. I can still hear the running n gunfiring even after that. However this doesn't happen when I play the game in medium to low settings. I can play for as long as I want without the black screen happening. So what exactly is going wrong when I try it on higher settings? Is this a heating issue or a PSU problem? Here are my specs:

Intel Core2Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz

3.0 GB DDR3 RAM

ATI Radeon HD4870

Windows 7 32-Bit OS

750W PSU

I don't think I will ever get bored of borderlands. It's co-op perfection.

Here is my problem. Recently my 360 has been freezing after a few minutes of play. It first started happening with borderlands, but now its happening with fifa 11 and halo reach also. Sometimes if freezes as soon as the company logos come on. Why is this happening? Is my 360 going to ger RROD? Or is it something else? Also my 360 is 3 years old. It has the 1st gen chipset.

[QUOTE="dumbdevil8"]

Well I was playing Reach today when suddenly the tv screen turned black and the 360 started flashing the 3 red lights. Also I found that the light on the power supply light was red instead of the usual green. There was also smoke coming out of the psu, atleast I think I saw smoke coming out. The psu light has been turning red every now and then, but the 3 red lights never showed up before. So I turned my 360 off and disconnected the psu and let it to cool for several hours. I later connected it and found the 360 working, psu light was green, and no 3 red lights. However with the fear of it breaking again I turned it off after about 2 mins. So is my 360 fixed or does the psu need to be replaced or is there a problem with the console itself? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

to prevent overheating, clean out your 360 from dust. 1 year of no cleaning has at least a total 1/4 inch of dust on everything

Cleaning it will fix the problem? Or should I order a new psu just to be safe?
