thats weird i had the same issue, and the reformat fixed mine. the loading took all day but after leaving it for several hours it finished, btw did you put your stuff that you backed up back onto the ps3? because i found that it was the backed up data making my ps3 corrupt so i had to start fresh and just copy the game saves and nothing else. crashndash

You could probably just swap out the HDD. You can find tutorials on youtube or just google on how to swap out ps3 HDD. mgfarmer

hi guys,

had my ps3 since october last year, 320gb slim, was working fine but over the past couple of weeks if been getting these 'the hardisk/hardrive is corrupted and will be restored' messages when i log in.

i click to restore and it does, but as soon as its done it freezes or restarts and i can never get to my user n log in. so i do the turn it on and wait for the three beeps and restore default settings etc, and then get to all my stuff, backed it all up (thankfully) and i play a game and it just freezes/laggs.

i turn it off and the next time i go to play it the same thing happens over and over again.

seeing as though i backed up all my data, i did the format the ps3 thing, and im still having this problem unfortunately.

i really don't want to send it back to sony (after the 1 year is finished i got an extra 2 years from the place i bought it from)

this is my 2nd ps3 to have problems in around a year (the last being my 2 year old 40gb YLOD)

how can i fix this? what hardrive things do i have to fix or solve.

i would like a simple fix please, as im not good with technology when it gets to the point of taking it apart and using screwdrivers and that type of stuff, as seen on youtube.

all helpful input would be greatly appreciated.

i want fifa 12, madden 12, the next burnout, etc etc, n ps4 wont be for ages, so not everyone can go by mw3 and be happy for ever,

I've watched a few walkthroughs on the internet and can't figure this out! Chapter 19- when you're in the town with the indian dude, there's a door he's supposed to open up after you've taken out a lot of the enemies. But he won't open the door! There's no Triangle prompt, nothing. On the walkthroughs I watched, the dude just rolls in front of the door and then the indian guy gets the hint and opens the door. I've tried rolling, shooting, jumping, crossbowing etc the door and can't figure it out. How do i get him to open the door?

I got it today and I have not had a lot of time with it yet but I'm curious how it is for KZ3.

BURNOUT 1 and 2 are also great, but judgin from ur addiction and excitement from the game, i think that because these games were mad years before burnout 3 takedown, they wont match the great game that burnout 3 is. By all means, im not sayin they arent great games, i own them and still play them to this day, but they dont have takedowns and high speed boost (they have some boost but u gotta build it up to use it), no crash modes, no online if ur into that, etc etc. buy them and enjoy, but dont expect them to be better than 3, if u play them, imagine this is all before u played 3:P lol

p.s there are burnout revenge and burnout dominator, both of which are after burnout 3, if ur looking for more of the same get them

if u have a next gen console get burnout paradise, listen to yur own music as u race, online, trophys and achievements, crash things on EVERY ROAD, super jumps, its effing insane!! lol

but if u only stick with the ps2, look at maybe ridge racer? few of them, alot of drifting, nothin in comparison to burnout but cheap nowdays
