ok so i finished MGS4 in a day and a half but i must say therz nothin else to play on PS3 until spetember when all the gory games come out like siren, silent hill, dead space, final fantasy, resident evil 5...

im a big fan of metal gear and other games... but for the PS3 to really thrive against the XboX THEY MUST renew the old games like, XENOGEARS on PS1 was a really really sick game, and and lot of people wana play MGS1 on PS1 all over again, and other games....i just really wish they would renew these two games and release them on the PS3 --- Metal gear solid 1 and xenogears.... it would be a dream come true

Yea it is safe. Just make sure you BACK UP whatever you need and get them off the hard drive.

This includes your GAME SAVE DATA, and whatever files/videos you need.

You won't be able to access your old hard drive to retrieve the saves later.

ok... this might seem like a really noob question... im sory... but how can i get the game save data from my PS3 before i replace the harddrive?!

i'm a proud PS3 40GB owner, and i have been enjoying it in every way possible... especially since i bought the HDMI cable and connected it to my HD ready plasma tv, the graphics are OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!!

however... i want to upgrade my capacity from 40GB to 120GB or say 140GB.... is it safe to replace the harddrive inside the PS3 with the same kind but bigger capacity?! would the system get corrupt or what ?! ???!?!

please help !!!

i was thinking of that too... but the thing that's botherin me is that i dont wana have regrets after buyin the 40GB. i dont want any surprises either. and one other thing... is it possible to download PS2 full games on the PS3 ?! i heard such a thing can happen... but i just wana make sure though...

No, you can't download PS2 games, you have to find actual physical copies.

Secondly, if you already own a PS2, then don't bother waiting for the 80GB PS3 edition, seeing as the PS2 is already 100% backwards compatible with PS2 games and you are risking losing your chance at acquiring the 80GB bundle version in your area with only a sense of luck.

Thirdly, if you don't own a PS2, then the 80GB is worth it in the long run.

Final note : you buy a PS3 to play PS3 games, PS2 games are a bonus.

PSS : I own two PS2s and a PS3 40GB. I used the cash I saved from buying myself an 80GB to purchase a 320GB SATA 2.5" drive, replacing the built-in 40GB. See what I did there?

FIRST OF ALL -- i do own a PS2 and had my share of memories along with it... HOWEVER there are games i wana try out on the PS3 just to see if the graphics on the PS2 game are enhanced by the PS3 system. such as MGS3 and MGS2, as well as MGS1 and a few more games. i mean dont u wana try out the PS2 games u played back and see if they are enhanced by the PS3?!

You should just buy the 40gig.. Because there's no guarantee that the 80gig MGS bundle will be released in your area. Plus you will be playing other great games now and then buy MGS when it comes out :D -supercharged-

that isn't really an issue here!!! see the thing with stores here is that as long as the merchandise has a long waiting list or demand on it.... then they wont even dare to ban it !! for example they banned COD4 here for a short period, then unbanned it coz they were forced to... the demand was just too high !!!

i dont care if it offends the middle east !! im a big fan of all the sequels of MGS and the only reason im gettin a PS3 is for that game !!

okay......i do understand that the MGS4 PS3 bundle is gettin released worldwide June 12 (same date as MGS4 release). However whenever i ask the retail stores' specialists here (in dubai, U.A.E) if they got any idea whatsoever, about the release of the bundle in june... they give me stupid answers such as "I duno... and the 80GB PS3 isnt released officially yet"!! that just freakin pisses me off coz they duno what they're talkin about !!

so... i come with a humble request of help from everyone!!!

i still havent bought a PS3 yet, so i am open to any answers and suggestions here!!!. I was gona buy the 40GB PS3 in stores here, but then i heard about the 80GB MGS4 bundle gettin released in june. so im just waitin for that.......since i really want the backward compatability coz a 60GB one is almost impossible to find here since it is discontinued!

im worried that this bundle wont reach the middle east... that is why i am this concerned. should i wait till june or just buy a 40GB?!
