[QUOTE="earl8034"]sorry to ask but i'm new to the whole HDTV thing and i wanted to know what does a HDMI cable look like and how much does it muchRyeferd

an HDMI cable looks somewhat like a usb cable. I assume you meant "how much does it cost" that is a hard question to answer, they vary fom $200, all the way down to $15. from what I can see, there isn't much of a point to spending a lot on an HDMI cable. I have my HDdirectv receiver hooked up to my samsung HDTV with a $20 Sony HDMI cable, and it looks great.

where can i get them for that cheap and will they work for this tv http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7908062&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050007&type=product&tab=1&id=1149207784284

[QUOTE="earl8034"]is this a good tv http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7601491&st=1080i&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1130981881933Ryeferd

that tv is okay if you are on a budget, its very cheap, has HDMI, and is a proven technology.

however, if I were you, I would look for somthing with 16:9 aspect ratio since ps3 games are in widescreen

ok how about this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7908062&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050007&type=product&tab=1&id=1149207784284
