Well, since getting a DS Lite I have really not been into my PS2 or PC even. What has brought me back to Nintendo’s side after almost 10 years of absence? Portability.
About a year ago when I got my PS2 I got it for the sheer fact SFII anniversary edition came out it was great and all. I started playing import games again, great. But then it got really stale and the games that came out started to suck. The games I wanted t o play were always rented out at blockbastard and soon after that I lost my Zest and now the PS2 is dusting up. Then I Start hearing of all the next gen stuff but I did not want to blow 600 bucks on a Xbox 360. Unless you have the TC to take advantage of those graphics, there really is no point.
About 2 months ago a co-worker let me play his Nintendo DS. I immediately fell in Love with brain age and Mario kart but I had an issue with the control pad and its weight. It was just too darn bulky. So I was not convinced to make a purchase. In the beginning of May, Nintendo announced the DS Lite. Smaller, lighter and brighter it was. What else could I want? I decided to pre-order as soon as EB would let me and last Sunday was the day I put my PS2 down and even left my one once-played copy of Liberty City stories for the PS2 aside and have not put the DS Lite down once.
So in conclusion, the next couple of game reviews will be DS games as the PS2 is not getting a review until Yakuza is coming out as that is the only PS2 game I am looking forward to.
