After seeing the trailer for Beowulf, does anyone else feel like the CGI parts of the movie looks really really really cheap and lame? They look like the old video game CGI cinematics found in PS2 games. They're glossy and untextured. I think the CGI cinematics in WoW look better.

a better example than C&C (although i love that series) are morality RPG's such as Fable, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and the strategy/sim Black & White.

In the RPGs listed above, playing Good is usually more challenging as in you have to do extra stuff or go the extra mile to please others to ultimately get what you need/want. While playing Evil you can just TAKE what you need/want by means of force.

World of Warcraft 2

but no seriously I was wondering this same question myself because I like MMORPGs and I quit WoW a few months ago (although I am entertaining the idea of going back since there really isn't anything else on the market right now).

There's lots of bashing on SWG and I agree to an extent but I will admit that I really enjoyed the game when it first came out. I really liked the UI and the graphics (which were very good at its time) and the customization available in the game. Although there really felt like something was missing from the game, maybe end-game content? It just felt off.

But anyway one thing I enjoyed about SWG were the cantinas. People would actually hang out in the cantinas, I remember my machine would lag for a bit everytime I entered a cantina because it was so populated. It made the game fun and social. Anarchy Online had the same thing, they had dance clubs... yeah... dance clubs. And people actually hung out there. I think WoW would be more fun if people actually hung out at the bars/inns but of course there's no real reason to. The cantinas in SWG served a purpose, I think they were to get rid of battle fatigue or something like that.

Also I'm just tired of the medieval sword and sorcery MMO.

Just finished the game and I have to say... "wow". I haven't played a game this innovative and with such a satisfactory ending in a long, long... actually I don't think I've ever played a game that was this satisfying. The reason I say this is because throughout the entire game, the game gives you this ominous feeling of dread. The facility is a complete hell. Especially after level 19 and you get into the "underworks" of the facility. It makes you feel comletely alone, a big reason why the voice that guides you was meant to sound non-human, to really pushes that lonely feeling.

But when you finally finish the game, and all you see is a blue sky, trees, and hear the sound of birds. Wow what a relieving feeling, like you escaped hell.

Plus the voice is just funny as hell especially at the end.

5/5

also note the the PC version will support up to 24 players while the 360 version will only support up to 16. In a crazy game like TF2 I say the more the merrier. :)

It's a little slower relative to TFC yes, but relative to other online FPS games like BF2, CS, or DoD then it's faster pace. TF2 took away everybody's grenades thus limiting everyones killing capacity and ultimately the overall mayhem on-screen. However, I think Valve compensated this by making the maps smaller as seen quite apparently in the new 2fort, Well, and Dustbowl as compared to their TFC versions.

Overall it's a very enjoyable game, I like the direction Valve went with in this rendition. On a side note to the poster that said "This game suck big time" or whatever, first use proper grammar and second if you're going to post an opinion you should also write why you feel that way. It doesn't help the original poster any bit without supporting evidence.

Also realize that TF2 is on a much smaller scale than BF2 meaning that the maps in BF2 can host like 64 players and are very wide open for vehicular combat, while currently the max for a TF2 map is 24 and they're much smaller maps. Basically what this boils down to is in TF2 the action is much faster, it's in-your-face, and basically it's just nuts. BF2 is more realistic, strategic, etc. You'll have much more fun with TF2, it's meant to be cartoony and unrealistic. And the action is non-stop in TF2, I think this was made intentional by making the maps smaller than their TFC versions. Well it's nonstop except for when waiting to respawn, which takes anywhere from 3-18 seconds.

Trying out all the different classes in TF2 is a lot of fun, they're vastly different from each other unlike the classes in BF2. look me up on Steam if you wanna play, my Steam ID is either 'ekho' or 'ekho84' (never used the friends feature before)

I have an Elite system, and now I am in need of an HDTV. Preferably an LCD, around 30" or so, under US$1000 (or if you must right around $1000). Good contrast ratio and response time, and one that can put out decent black color. The TV will be for gaming and movies mostly, some regular television broadcast (not HD serviced broadcast).

thanks in advance,

ekho

dude, talk about comparing apples and oranges.... those two games can't get any more different from each other. CSS-- online first person tactical shooter, RCT-- singleplayer sim building.

Don't listen to DerkaDerkaJihat. RollerCoaster Tycoon, even the first game, is still played by many people. Go check out websites and forums for RCT3 and you'll see lots of activity, people will be posting new rides and new parks. DerkaDerka might think RCT doesn't have much longevity but that's his entitled opinion, you on the other hand may love the game and play it for 7 years who knows. Same can be said for CSS or any game for that matter.

So it's really up to your preference, do you feel like running around a constrained map with many other people online who trash talk in high pitched or way-too-low voices, shooting people, dying many, many, many times in the most unpredictable fashion, getting frustrated when you know that another player is hacking with aimbot, or when you just dont know how you held down the fire button hit them 3 times and they still kill you with one headshot even when they were firing full auto. Then again you will most likely after some time of practice make some very gratifying stress-reliving kills with maybe a sniper rifle, a headshot, or even a well placedflashbang grenade throw at an enemy with 1 health thus killing them with the object (not the bang)

Or..

Do you feel like building a colorful, slightly whacky, witty theme-park to your imaginations content? where you can build, design, and decorate your very own park, rides, buildings, waterparks, waterslides, etc. you can even find devious little ways to torture the guests at your park such as trapping hundreds of them in one square block of land for days, dropping them in water, launching them off a high-speed coaster, launching them into a wall, launching them into another coaster, launching them out of a waterslide into a wall, launching them out of a waterslide over a swimming pool and into another swimming pool, etc. etc. etc.like i said, your imaginations content. on the other hand some of the more challenging objectives in RCT can be quite hard and you may get bored with building the same park, sometimes it can take quite a while to fill the entire area of a park because some of them are very large (although if you ever do fill every nook and cranny of a park with stuff it is quite gratify to see all your work in the end).

conclusion, these two games are vastly different, so it's really up to you what kind of experence you want to play. it's up to your preferences and moods.
