Mexico is one of the most overlooked gaming markets by the big 3, specially by Sony, which is a HUGE mistake, because among young mexicans, like my brother (LOL, I was born in the US), the PS3 is considered the best gaming machine, however many people are overlooking it by its high price point, which is a common thing for all the consoles, but in this case the PS3 is number 1 in price, the prices are as follows:

1. PS3 80 GB( only option available) $1000USD
2. 360 $580 USD
3. Wii $450 USD

NOW, game prices on average are as follows:

1. PS3 $90 USD
2. 360 $75 USD
3. Wii $65 USD

Did you notice any pattern here?, yup, the PS3 is an expensive console to own if you are from Mexico or Latinamerica, the PS3 is $420 more than a 20 gb 360 and $550 more than a Wii, even games are priced almost 20 bucks higher.

This happens because Sony Mexico just brings here the consoles, the games and other stuff have to be imported by retailers and due to some taxes they increment the prices to generate profit, what Sony really needs to do is price the PS3 at $500 at the most, so they generate profit and gamers benefit, becuase thanks to this, Mexico an Latinamerica are 360 territory, because the PS3 is too expensive and the Wii too chilidish for the average mexican gamer.

Okay, so have you (like myself) ever wondered wtf does the Media Server option does to your PS3?,

The answer is simple, it streams media of all kinds (pictures, music and video) from any pc to your PS3, it works in a similar way to the 360´s media stream (just that here you dont need any OS version, heck you dont even need to have windows on that pc of yours). So I´ll explain how to get things up nd running.

1. Download either WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 11(windows only) or TVersity (windows, linux and OS 10.4 (using an emulator)).

2. Id go for TVersity as it converts the media on the go so that it can be read by your PS3.

3. If you choose to use WMP11 convert all your media to a PS3 format , then on the library tab click Media Share and select allow unknown devices, assuming that your PC is on the same network as the PS3 and thar your media is PS3 ready youre good to go(note: WMP11 NEEDS TO BE RUNNING).

4.If you use TVersity, just enter it and start steaming, no need to onvert anything.
