A Long-Needed Update

Well, considering it has been roughly two years since I last posted a blog, I'll just give all those who care a brief summary of the past two years.

I moved out of my controlling mother's house and I've pimped out my computer at my father's house--even though now said pimping-out is beginning to show its age. I'm a junior in high school (as opposed to my freshman self) and I am anxious for college which I've now decided I want to go into video game design. Sure, I might become an interpreter or a teacher for high school (granted I hate high school so I'd be disappointed in coming back and working there for the rest of my life), but right now, it'd make sense to make a job through something I enjoy. Maybe web design, maybe graphic arts, but all I know is that I love coding after taking my computer science class and I wanna learn more about it.

Other than what I just typed, nothing really has happened the past two years. I worked at Target for a while but then I quit since the supervisors are bastards but the job I actually did enjoy (being a chocolatier) went out of business due to the damnable recession.

However, my question to those who read my pseudo-insane ramblings is this: in preparation for the Sims 3, do I need to update my graphics card (NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS) or should I just get a whole new computer (I run a 2006 Windows XP w/ 4GB RAM and the graphics ard I just listed; I don't know the processor off hand and I'm writing this during school)?

One thing, though, is that I'll be a lot more active now, reviewing a few games and being more than happy to meet fellow gamers/game enthusiasts/nerds. :D

Breaking Free.. ish..

Just last night.. I left my mother's house after her being hostile towards my sister and me. I don't want to run down on the whole story because A) it isn't that interesting and B) I don't want the whole gamespot community thinking I'm a whiner. However.. this affects gaming a few ways:

1) I do not have to buy a single game twice for different consoles now so that I have a game at both houses. My parents wouldn't let me take the games through school so I had no other option.

2) I have all of my consoles (as well as my clothing, financial information, furniture, et cetera) in one place.

3) I do not have to buy graphics cards for two computers. Right now, the computer at Mom's house has a Radeon X700 while over here at Dad's, it has a GeForce 6600 OC, and I was going to replace the X700 with a GeForce 7900 GS OC when I got the chance, but I might not need to do that now.

So.. if any of you are wondering how I can just.. neglect the fact that I no longer wish to live with my mother? Umm.. here's a few reasons why. She's psychologically abusive, her emotions are sparatic, she dates a police officer who then causes us to fear both the police and them (as a form of submission), if she is at home alone, she keeps a pistol near by, she's an alcoholic as well as her boyfriend, and when she first ran away before all thiscrap happened, she had the choice to take her kids or $60,000 in a safe she didn't know the combination to.. and guess what she choose.. haha.. sure as hell not the kids; all she cared about was getting the money out of the house.

I loved the woman to death and that was not even enough and then she pulls all this on us? I went from disappointed, to indifferent, to sickened in a matter of hours as all this came to light finally.. But.. sorry for wasting my watchers' time with my rants.

Bottom line: things will be cheaper and I'll be happier.. but am I wrong?

Cash... Blagh...

As a 15 year old... you'd think I would have it easy with my parents and asking them for stuff.. well.. those my age would know how hard it is, and if they do have that luxury.. :P lucky SOBs.

But anyway, I am strapped for cash right now and there are a few games I am looking into like Final Fantasy X-2, Godfather: The Game, possibly The Guild 2. I am also saving up for Mass Effect and a few other XBOX360 games that will be out hopefully in due time. But does anyone have any ideas whatsoever to get money? Getting a job is out of the equation because child labor laws in my state are weird :\

That and if anyone can provide a good arguement to NOT buy the games I just listed, or to prove my assumptions as they are worthy to buy, please do tell.
