I haven't played the demo yet, but I'm not surpiced that the gfx's are worse on the PS3. PS3 just don't have enough memory to display textures like those u see on the 360 ( in games like GeoW and Bioshock). Even games like MGS4 and Killzone2 seems to have worse textures. The PS3 don't have the same support for AA like the 360 either which leaves almost every game with tons of jaggies. Still for most people these small faults won't make a difference.

1680x1050 is a higher resolution than a TV with 720p(1280x720) output, but lower than 1080p (1900x1080). HDMi only makes the picture better, it doesn't have anything to do with the resolution.
As far as I know it's rather hard to hook a PS3 up to a PC monitor without HDMi or component. However, I'm sure it's possible. You might try to buy a HDMi to DVi thing... if your monitor have DVi. I have done this with my comp and it looks okay I guess.
I just bought a PS3 and since my 360 look great on my old SDTV I thought the same applyed to the PS3....well I was wrong. the picture flickers a lot ( like FF12 without flicker filter).
Is there any way to improve the picture quality on a normal SDTV( PAL)?If I buy a component AV cable like this http://uk.playstation.com/ps3/hardware/accessories/detail/item48490/Component-AV-Cable/ Will it help? Or do I have to buy a HDTV cuz right know it really hurts to look at the screen.
