Guinness ads are way better in the UK

"BRILLIANT!" I'll admit, it was worth a chuckle. Though I'm not too attached to the Monty Python-esque duo. Other side of the pond, they have works of art for their Guinness ads. I particularly admire the work by Jonathan Glaser. The "Good things come to those who wait" ad campaign has some great work. I'll post one, "The Dreamer," but I encourage you to check out a few more. "The Surfer" is one of Glasers that came out 5 years ago that won some awards that I really like.

I can't figure out how to post a video so here's the link.

Summer TV is kind of an oxymoron

Most of the year I have a handful of shows I can't miss (it's a big plus having a TiVo). Lost, Heroes and The Office are my main triumverate. Now that I have to wait till it gets cold to watch them again I have little desire to watch TV. During the cold months of the northeast I have few outdoor recreational choices during the week (can't go skiing every day), so if I can't find anyone to hang out with it's gaming, TV, playing my mandolin/guitar/dobro or smoking a cigar downtown (shouldn't do that every day). During the summer, unless it raining, there is tons of stuff I'd rather do than watch TV. That might be why they don't have anything good on, because most people would rather be outside somewhere. No quality programming pretty much takes away the temptation of staying indoors. Me, I'd rather bike, run, swim, hike, hang out at the beach, play catch, softball, frisbee, or golf. I'll just friggin lay on the grass, especially when it has just started getting warm. I got to milk my favorite season for all it's worth. Though PC games still suck me back indoors most weeknights, gotta get my fix, even if it's just 20 mins of Diablo while I eat (gotta love one-handed games).
