Over the past couple of months, particularly mid June to now, my life has been excellerated in a way that I've only dreamt about before. And I know why- God's been showing me the power of prayer and how dramatically things can change when you keep and extremely active prayer life. I can't even describe how blessed I feel, but I haven't been very active on here so I thought you guys might want to know what's up. Here's a couple of the things:
Last month my best friend (female) left for the Coast Guard Academy and is just now finishing up basic training. We've been real close since 1st grade and it was sort of a hit when she left. I started praying every night and sometimes throughout the day that I'd meet someone to think about; someone to get to know. Basically, a girlfriend. It only took a few weeks and God answered in a way I didn't expect- I started thinking about a girl I was already friends with in a new light. Her name's Lexi, she's almost 17, I know her through the Civil Air Patrol, she's smart as a whip and friekin hot. But for some reason or another, I wasn't interested in her in that sense for the 3 years I've known her. That changed a couple weeks ago and we're together now. Her parents are a little strict but I'm sort of thankful for that, and I have a really good feeling about it. Lastnight I even took her to my cousin's wedding, then we drove to an elementry school that I went to kindergarden at and chilled on a playground. All in all it was the funnest night of my life.
The second thing- my car isn't very reliable. Everyone starts out with a piece of crap, right? Mine happened to be a fairly cool piece of crap; a 86 rx7. But it's 22 years old and it has trouble in the heat, and I really don't feel comfortable taking it to college. Yet I don't have money for another car. I never worried about it, though, since I figured I could work a part time job to pay for a car since I'm on full scholarship. Well last week the results of my FAFSA came in, and I found out that I've been awarded 2 additional scholarships and the only one I thought I was going to get for room & board. So I'll have all the money I need to for that plus over $6000 for a car.
I hope that didn't sound like I'm bragging but I just needed to get it out. I'm extremely thankful because everything's been coming together for me and I can't take credit for it. Thanks for reading.
