This Is Rather Odd....

So I had to read Pride and Prejudice for my English class. I had already seen the newer movie (2005), and I thought it was the classic chick-flick. In other words, not my type. But upon reading the novel, and watching the 1995 version in class, the story really started to come alive. I mean, I've never liked romance/drama material, and this should be no exception, but it is.

My paper was on (no, I didn't chose it) the causes of Elizabeth's prejudice against Darcy, and I must say it was rather eye-opening. I'll just say it, Jane Austen is a genius and P&P rocks. The story and the way it is written is fascinating to me.... somehow. If you think I've lost my mind, feel free to say so.

This might be over the edge, but I felt like I was learning some romance tips (what to do, and what not to do). Yes it was set in the 1700's; who cares. But most of all, the lessons have to do with the title itself. Pride. Prejudice. They are a fog that surrounds us and the people we converse with, imparing our vision. Until we destroy this fog, we will never see the true character of a person- only what we percieve.

Here are some pretty sweet vids made by fans. The first is clips of the latest movie to the amazing music of my homie Hans Zimmer. The second uses a Josh Groban song. Yes, I like Josh Groban and I'm proud of it.
