I'd read a guide only if it was free and I had already finished the game.
They make great reads while you sit on the loo.

Not too much of a shock, they are inconsistent reviewers with what seems a random taste in games (Nintendogs, Haze) although it is interesting to see a few opinions at least.

I think this still has potential to be a great game, what do you think?
Disarming the bomb gives you a shack in Megaton (Good), detonating it gets you an apartment in Tenpenny tower (Evil)
both of the homes are basically the same but I find Megaton, being near the center of the map, is a much better base.. also I prefer the shops and people

SSX Tricky does NOT work on the EU 60gig PS3 and I assume it wont work on the US 80 (limited BC) models, I checked the EU backwards compatibility site and it is not listed, tried 3 Tricky discs (I work around games so I can swap if I have any probs) and none have worked.
I eventually just bought a cheap PS2 for the handful of games that I want to run perfectly.
Thanks for the reply, I'm going to give that memtest a try and see if that is the root of my probs, if not I'll have to check my drives..
Are Hitachi and Maxtor that problematic? I've been using Maxtor drives for years, have I just been lucky until now?
I wonder if anyone could shed some light on a problem I have...
Over the last month my gaming PC has a reoccurring crash, initially I thought it was overheating as the game I was playing (almost anything, though mostly Team fortress 2, COD2 & 4) would freeze, the graphics would go nuts or the screen will go black while the sound loops. The machine though does not automatically reset and I am forced to power off/reset manually.
Yesterday it crashed while I was playing Call of Duty 2 and the computer seemed to have wiped my saved game, annoyed I played something else but now, almost every time the crash occurs I see text and imagery of the call of duty 2 main menu screen mixed up with others in a random jumble (also menu's from the other games I've played) but the crashes only occur during gameplay.
Initially the crashes would take place about every 8 hours of game time but it has got so bad I cannot play for more then a few minutes. It has also started effecting streaming videos (youtube ect) but is very rare at the moment.
I've tried a complete format and I have reinstalled the Nvidia drivers on several occasions but I'm still getting the problem.

Initially I was running with XP home when the problem occurred then decided it was time to upgrade to Vista premium 64 but the problem remained and has now rendered my games unplayable, both OS had the latest updates and it is the exact same crash which leads me to suspect a hardware problem somewhere, I suspect the RAM but the vista diagnostics test say it is fine.
Can anyone help?
Sorry if it seems I rambled on or there are any/many grammatical errors.
NONE of the consoles this gen have fully delivered
PS3: had a super slow start (though gradually getting better)
WII: has no games other then party/casual rubbish
360: Awful hardware (though slowly improving) most games have superior PC ports
PC and PS3 is all I need, looking forward to GoW3 and GT5
I use Metacritic, it isn't a games review site per se but it gathers all of the reviews from sites and gives you an average.
I find it useful to see why games get low/high scores and you can often eliminate the magazine bias (Sony sites will tend to hype Sony games, same with Microsoft and Nintendo with their own) and I like to look for reoccurring themes within reviews, if many of them point out the same flaws then you know it could be a major problem.
