PS3 Support

There has been a lot of talk about the woes of Sony and the Playstation 3 as up late. Many are asking in the the gaming behemoth can stay afloat with it's newest console venture. Although well founded, I wouldn't worry quite yet.

Certainly Sony needs to retool their game plan, which had already been seen by the "changing of the guard" in Playstation management as well as a promise of 360+ new titles on the PS3 by March 2008.

Some still feel that Sony is on a downward spiral with their big black box, but I feel that they can pull it off.

Just look at how Sony has managed the previous two console, with great third party support along with a solid fan base. This will continue because I don't believe that Sony has lost any third party support and what has currently caused many game critics to throw their arms in the air is simply a shift in the industry: more multi-platform games.

In the increasingly more competitive gaming industry, it is a much more profitable choice to release a game on as many consoles as possible - to the demise of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

Nevertheless, Sony merely needs a few outstanding titles on the PS3 as well as a possibly price drop (because they priced themselves out of the market) and they will see many Sony Playstation fans return to their side.

I believe that it can will happen very soon. I also still predict that the Wii will see nearly complete reversal, because Nintendo is horrible at maintaining the longevity of any console and the Wii will stop being a cool-new-gimmick someday.
