We will await the benchmarks. The graphical fidelity of the gameswill need to be good, Because they can’t just be 60fps@4k and look trash. No point in that either.
But you will find that this will be near impossible outside of DLSS.
Demon Souls will rock 1440p 60fps, but its arguably one of the most gorgeous looking games in development.
@maxxdiamond: I like making comparisons between the two consoles, and I honestly cant wait to see whos right and whos wrong in regards to console domination. I'm probably right for betting on the PS5. Thus far there's some pretty strong indication of its power.
Still this is just fun for me to talk about, no need to get upset over claims.
@sladakrobot: I'm primarily a PC enthusiast. I know a systems limits. So none of this is lost on me. :p
MANY games will not run 4k 60fps. Anyone expecting 4k@60fps is sure to be sorely disappointed. This is also the case with ray tracing, I don't expect to see high quality ray tracing either as this is even more expensive than higher resolutions
So to answer your question on heavy hitters... the heavy hitters will run as best as they can in a given system and graphics setting. A great example is TLOU2.
Cant run 4k? no problem... you reduce what you can and put efforts elsewhere to improve what you can and sell your game. This is a natural step that developers will be taking with next gen consoles, and its games.
@decadentdescent: Not to mention Mark Cerny already mentioned an effort to reduce developer familiarity time; The concept of "time to triangle" is the time required for developers to familiarize themselves with new consoles.
As an example The Playstation 4's time to triangle was 1-2 months. Mark Cerny makes the claim in his Playstation 5 deep dive that he and partners are achieved <1month time to triangle with the PlayStation 5.
If this is true, we should see amazing games pretty much right off the bat. Judging by games like Demon Souls that run 1440p at 60fps, I think this to be a true claim when you consider the performance and graphical fidelity of this game.
