Obviously, this isn't my main account. I've been a member of Gamespot since 06/19/2005 and I've averaged less than 1 post per day, probably around 0.5/day.
Last week I posted a number of times in an article, probably 8 times in one article. One of my posts was subsequently deleted by a moderator (I guess) and the next day I was banned. I've sent two emails to Gamespot asking for the reason as to why I'm banned, and I can't seem to get a response. I'm guessing the ban blocks emails to the help desk?
Okay, I understand it's your site/your rules, but frankly I don't understand the ban. I can't think of anything so heinous that I've done to warrant a ban. My posts try to be more or less humorous...and anytime you try to write humorous things it can sometimes go to far and someone gets offended. Okay, so you delete the posts that you don't find appropriate. I get that and I don't continue to push whatever conversation you're deleting. I do consider deleted posts the next time I write something, but I don't know that you've deleted many of my posts through the years. Maybe over the past ten years you deleted 6 (I'm guessing). And as for last week, I can't for the life of me comprehend what was offensive in the post that was deleted.
Lastly, as for the ban, you really need to make a way to appeal the ban. I can't send a private message to moderator, I can't post anywhere your site and I don't even get an automated reply from your help desk saying we received your email. I would be awfully nice to get an email saying you've been banned for this duration (which based on various forum chatters has one duration, that of forevermore) due to whatever rules violation. Further, if your moderators are going to be quick to ban someone for marginal bad behavior, then not all bans should be permanent and forever.
