@matricks_:

Sports and "athletic" are two different things though. Card games like Yugioh and Poker, Chess, Billiards, Fishing (killing animals), Sport Kite (like flying a kite that does tricks), RC racing, Robot combat, hunting (which is killing animals), Tag, Red Rover, Hide and Seek, Walking (which is an olympic sport), a ton of motorized sports (including motorboat racing which used to be an olympic sport), Esports (video games are listed with combat robots, and radio control vehicles), Dominos, Risk, Majong...

Now to be fair though- Games require organized rules. Sports do not. Running is a sport and not a game. Monopoly is a game and not a sport.

Fact is, these things I have listed, either have physical exertion (hide and seek tag) which makes it a sport, or have organized world tournaments. So not all video games are sports. Only games like Tetris have that honor. Games like DDR are automatically sports though.

Tug of War was in the Olympics. Why not Laser Tag?

Also going to point out that not one person who has won a championship I have seen other than the Tetris Champion has been overweight. And the Tetris Champion lost weight... so your assertion that they are overweight is just wrong...

@Renegade_Garrus: You are absolutely correct. Sports that require you to be smart that have been or are in the Olympics:

Baseball/Softball- Baseball I swear is 90% a mental game. However, some people say the players are stupid. But this is more to do with being "old fashioned". Liking a slower paced mental game rather than something more exciting.

Golf- And it has made a comeback in the Olympics after a long time away. It is definitely a mental game.

Basketball- when I look up sports which have the most geniuses, Basketball comes up!

What sport would I say is most like Video games? Baseball. Even if it is the opposite of old fashioned. The skills to be very good at one and the other are similar. My brother who plays Baseball and is always on all stars little league and is considered the best player, is also very good at video games.

@Renegade_Garrus: I agree. They should start a section dedicated to mental sports.

Tetris, Chess, Magic the Gathering.

Those are my votes.

@Dark_Matters: Poker hasn't but Tug of War has. lol.

Rhythmic Gymnastics takes less talent than the guy who has won Tetris World Championships for the last 6 years. And lets not forget the sport of Racewalking... Pretty much anyone who wins a Pokemon Championship is more interesting than race walking people.

@Ripper_TV: Because they are worthless "everyone gets a trophy" bullshit. I do think that maybe adding a list of the games you completed thing would be cool. I donno. Better than trophies to me. Since you know... I beat my games and I think that is worth more than the trophies I get for pulling levers and looking up or not looking up skirts.

@westsiderz28: Attach them to the pad. Put them on the dock. They will charge. You can also buy a portable joycon charger. But they joycons do last 30? hours I believe. So that really wont be necessary to me.

@darthrevenx: They didn't carry over on my PS4... wtf are you talking about???? I had so many PS1 games on my PS3.... People just seem to give Sony and Microsoft a pass for the same stuff Nintendo does... oh whatever "but it is a new service" yeah... like Nintendo has a new console... just annoying rental service instead of what I used to have...

I also really hate Sony's really stupid DRM that Nintendo DOES NOT HAVE. Also Xbox 360 also has annoying DRM with their digital downloads I noticed. Sooooo guess who wins for me... Nintendo who lets you play all the games you downloaded no matter where you are even if you are away from the internet. Cool beans. And the Wii (if you can remember that far back) was the only one of the gen two gens ago that had native wifi right at the start. It isn't that Nintendo is always behind or any of that nonsense. You guys are the ones being fanboys. And BTW, I didn't even buy a Nintendo console until the Wii U. And, I was pretty surprised how much I ended up loving it despite all the hate surrounding it. And yeah. I bought it because of Splatoon so maybe that is why I didn't really suffer the ill effects. I bought it late in the console life, I bought it knowing what it was, I bought it after the price drop. I bought it kinda knowing there wouldn't be a Zelda and also not being a Zelda fan... which probably helped me like it more.

I had no prior Nintendo experience to color my judgement of Wii U. So I loved it. And It is mostly because I felt like I was missing something we used to have back in the PS2 era. This like... fun factor where you could play offline and without trophies and chat and such... and people really didn't care... they just played to play the games. And that is what I was after. This classic attitude and feeling that I was missing all generation 7. And it is a hard thing to really tell people that it was lost because of the DRM, the trophies, and the games people played to feel like "real men". Eh.... I view those games like Skyrim and COD and Destiny as casual stuff... and stuff like Tokyo Mirage Sessions as being not so casual. XD Mostly because not everyone bought it. Niche audience. The kinda joy you only got from playing Katamari on PS2.

I guess... I am painted into this odd corner of being a Nintendo fan with not much nostalgia for Nintendo. I did always have a portable though. But who the flip didn't? Pokemon and tactics games were always my jam. From Advanced Wars to Fire Emblem. Best games on the GBA.

@IanNottinghamX: From the looks of it though, it looks just as much an RPG as Skyrim though. Especially compared to other Zelda games.
