A lot of people chat in Vent and TS. I know that. But majority of the people you would encounter are lone wolves on their own mission. I bet 75% of people on a server arent in Vent or TS. If everyone was in Vent or TS chatting, there would me a lot more teamwork going on.

Look at a game like CSS. Lots of in game chat. I think BF players are just mic shy or arent used to using a mic in BF games.

All I know is when I was in a community that was into BF2, that I was almost always on vent talking to them through it and not so much worrying about talking to people in-game. Chances are, the less required voip is, the less people are gonna use their mics.

I've played a hell of a lot of CoD4 on PC when it first came out, I rarely ever heard anyone use their mics in that and still rarely ever do. Mainly because there's nothing to say 99% of the time unless you're on some Hardcore server where everyone only lives once for the round.

It's not a Battlefield thing, it's just how online gaming is in general.

I hear you. I come from a Valve background so Im just used to hearing people chatting left and right. Could be a Valve thing. I got BF2 cheap and ditched it because it was a dead silent community for me. Got BC2 and its the same thing except I love the game.

this is a serious question, even if it may not seem like it. Back when i stopped PC gaming, nobody ever had a mic... was pretty much unheard of if you did. Do any online gaming communities on PC use mics as a standard and not just clans in vent? and if so which ones?

Anyone think Battlefield has a terrible community? No one uses their mics. No one talks in chat. God forbid you enter one of those servers where its dead silent and even if youre spamming a question, no one replies. Coming across someone in game who uses a mic is like finding a water bottle in a desert.

People just run around doing their own thing. Im excluding console versions because pretty much everyone on XBL has a mic. The PS3 community is welcome though. The demo community was just as bad. This goes for Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 2.

That crowd was CRAZY!

yep it's wasting your money, but hey why stop there? if dlc is a waste then isin't buying the original game a waste also? shouldn't you be padding out your 401k or saving for your education?

people are always trying to convince me of what i need to be doing with the money i make by telling me something is a rip off or that it's going to cause armageddon, social breakdown and abortions.

even if i am getting ripped off so what? dlc is a drop in the bucket when it comes to the ripoffs that i encounter everyday.

Crysis didn't just get 9.5 for graphics alone. I think that you have either not played the game properly, or have heard from people on forums.

It got 9.5, because it has awesome sandbox gameplay, that manages to pace the story extremely well, despite the actual story being a total POS.

Teammate: "Leave me to air command"

I don't have much experience with this game, but isn't that only the beginning? I though later aliens are introduced.
