I trieI wish they would make a game as great as Lost Odyssey's graphics then combine with Eternal Sonata's battle system, plus add a serious and deep story, now that would be great.

I think that that it's called "rpg gamers paradise":)

[QUOTE="BiglyBiglyFK"]First of all, I think that you are a parent because kids don't concern these things these days. and you're more concerned than you should be. I was born in 1990 and I've been playing any good game released since 96, regardless of the rating. Some of them like Resident Evil, Soldier of Fortune, Manhunt, Clock Tower, Duke Nukem, Diablo, etc. have violence and sex themes and drug use and all that stuff in them. But did I really care? no. Did my parents care? no. Because if you child is the type to get influenced by these stuff, there's youtube with it's snuff films and drug recepies. There's millions of films showing violence, TV is showing violence. Our governers are using violance against people. and even if u manage to get all that away from your kid, you cant find a way to get him/her off the streets. We got the streets which are the dirtiest places for violence and drug use and stuff.
and By the way, age doesnt prove anything. I'm sure that my mom who is 48 won't have the guts to kill someone on , let's say, manhunt. But I also know that my 6-year-old cousin only visits us to play gears of war and bioshock and manhunt and whatnot.
You know what theworse influence on ur child? u. A control freak who is negative and careful. You dont want your child to grow up like that. Don't make him believe that playing violent games makes HIM violent. Because it wouldn't. And after all, Bioshock isn't violent at all.
By the way let me tell u a story. Every person who asked me: What are u gonna be in the future? when i was a child knows that my passion was becoming a serial killer. But after I played my games, I become calmer and more sane because I saved all my insanity and all my love to kill for AIs who doesn't actually live.

That post is far scarier than Bioshock.
Any child who actually had thoughts of becoming a serial killer is definitely in need of some help. Be it parental or professional.
As a parent I would not let my 9 year old girl anywhere near this game. The morality issues related to the little sisters are way beyond the abilty for a young mind to comprehend. The shooting, dismembering and torturing of the Rapture slicers is very gory and on par with the level of gore in Gears of War. In fact, because the slicer were once human I'd say it's a bit more disturbing than killing the alien scrubs in GoW. Anytime the voilence approaches reality I think that parents should use extreme caution when exposing their children.
Having said that, I think that most 15-16 year olds could cope very well with the voilence in this game. But that is really a decision best left to the parent. If your parents want to purchase this Mature game for you I see no problem with that.
I wish I had a father like YOu:)
worst scenario but point is when i grew up these games didnt exist so the outcome of children playing adult rated games havnt been seen yet i guess .. ? Fioth
Well, actually I think that adult games have been out for at least ten years so there would be kids who played the game and became adult. Maybe there wheren't rating but surely there have been RE zombies eating human flash. The fact that a real study hasn't been made yet maybe underlines the fact that bad games or movies haven't got all this influence. However I am forced to agree that it is up to the parent decide and that You must decide based on Your knowledge about the kid. That for the beforementioned balance......
Also the rating gives a nice additional taste to the game: being able to play something You shouldn't i's great fun. That's the problem in becoming an adult:)
Pittongkid: Didn't U find blue dragon a bit lame??? I tried to play the demo but really couldn't find much good in it. Maybe the graphic was quite crisp but the game play....did You finish it???
Btw, nice avatr:)
I've been craving JRPGs for a long time since the Final Fantasy days. The game looks very promising, packed with 4 discs. I'm guessing it's over 200+hours minimum. I've been looking for a vibrant, happy, looking game, that is more adult-themed/mature. Final Fantasy always delivered that. I've reserved my copy of LO. Good luck.

GOsh 200 hours of RPG would be an incredible amount of time by any standard......I guess that 4 discs are necessary for the graphics....but if You are correct, and the graphic is consistent for all the game with the preview, this game is HUGE.
As a choice, right now, nothing is at the level with the final fantasy saga. The difference between Eternal Sonata and the "soon out" lost odissey are many. In fact they seem compltely different. So, if You want to buy eternal sonata straight away or lost odissey in feb, is really up to what You like...... try to whatch the previews.
After playing a bit eternal sonata I can assure You that it is a really solid game. So, if You like the style, don't worry. It's well spent money.
As stated before, bioshock is a game with a script. It has got the same depthness as a good x-men comic book with the gore of a B-movie....overall, a great experience with excellent graphics and outstanding sounds and music:8). You choose to be bad or good....but that's all. I choose the path of light and sighed in the ending. Great game....get it without any worry. If You are worried about this game You should be worried about each news broadcast or simple horror movie. A movie like "the blob" has far more gore then this video game.....
When I was 16 I would have never and ever thought to ask if a game was Suitable for me. It was quite the rule just to play what ever was the hype. And if a strip poker was available....that was great:).
