I have not logged into gamespot in about a year although I check on games daily. So I decided to log in and add all of my games to the pile and give them a few ratings. Since my last post I eventually bought my son a black ds-lite (although I have more games :D ) and I have a Wii. I have been impulse shopping for games every since. I did figure out my favorite genre and that would be "virtual life games" I am in love with the Sims and I am very excited that a MySims game is coming out for the Wii and DS. I finished Urbz (the only game I ever completed) about a month ago and just ordered Sims2 today. Yeah I am a little behind but I am slowly catching up.
I love animal crossing but after getting the largest house and having over a million bells I realized there really is no ending with that game. One thing I love about the Sims are the task that are involved with the game. I have to admit that after I played Urbz and completed it I still turn on the game just to do mindless chores:roll:
So I am really excited that my Sims2 will be here on Tuesday. I looked everywhere for that game and finally gave up and ordered online at Amazon.com along with a few books. On another note I purchased Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree last week and it is really ok. I wish there were more games involved and possibly if they were a bit harder. Although I do love the game the one for the DS-Lite seems better.
After adding all of my games on nintendo I found out I was eligible for a free Wii remote keychain (lol). I am such a nerd. I did add all of my games on gamespot except for one because I can't find it: Monopoly, Boggle, Battleship 4 game fun pack for the DS. Where is it on the list?
Well I am off to play my Wii and finish surfing the net on my DS-Lite :P Oh and before I forget, I had my 65 year old mother playing the Wii she loved it. Today she asked how much it cost because her physical therapist said it was good exercise. I love nintendo for making us smarter and healthier :D
I am new to this (not blogging). I am new to gaming in a way. Although I live in a house with avid gamers and we have every console that is out right now with PS3 and Nintendo Wii waiting to be pre-ordered. It is a given that if it is new and hot and in gaming...we have or they (my b/f and son) have it.
I was so sick of watching everyone around being consumed with their hand helds, pc games or consoles and tired of being asked to join in b/c I could never grasp the concept of "gaming." I honestly thought it was dull and lifeless, I mean the last console that I personally bought for myself was...the original Nintendo before that the Atari (when it first came out). Yeah so I am a bit behind.
Surprisingly I have not had any desires to own a hand held. I had my own hobbies, mainly photography. But while I was in Best Buy a surge of impulse shopping hit me to purchase the DS-Lite. My son was ecstatic, jumping up and down in the store until I proclaimed..."No, it's for me." He asked what I was going to do with it. I replied, "Play it, DUH!"
At the time (this was 3 days ago). The only titles that seemed interesting were Brain Age and Big Brain Academy so I bought them. Came home, tried them out and....LOVED IT! When my b/f came home I thought he was going to pass out as I mumbled a hello because I was too into my game to look up.
Since then I have been consumed. Joining forums and creating user names with gamespot.com and Nintendo.com I have also purchased four more games Super Princess Peach, New Super Mario Bros. (I have a grudge since I never completed the original), Nintendogs - Chihuahua & Friends and lastly my new addiction Animal Crossing Wild World.
I feel like I finally get it, at 27 years old I finally get what all of the hype is about. It is just good clean fun. I may even get a little edgy and install Halo or Guild Wars since I look at them on our shelf everyday. But for now I am taking this one day at a time and even finding myself getting excited to turn on my DS-Lite to see the changes in my town...Funtasia on Animal Crossing WW. Well, I need to go store my shells and log off, I am opening my gates tomorrow and going Wi-Fi.
Oh yeah I started a photoset with my DS-Lite on my flickr page: www.flickr.com/photos/erica2368
