@Joon602 Funny, I haven't seen any of that. It doesn't seem like this news has convinced any Xbox One fans to change their minds. And why would it? If they thought the console was good enough before, this news that it's going to be *faster* than they thought isn't going to change their mind. Stop with the fanboy nonsense.
@profileap600 @JimmeyBurrows I'm sure MS was underclocking the chip because of the 360's overheating issues. The bump in speed is probably still lower than it would need to be. It's a trade-off. It's good that they're being conservative to avoid overheating, but it means that owners will be paying for a part that's not being used as efficiently as it might be.
@Guest1001 Aside from the anemic list of exclusives for *both* consoles at launch, they'll all be playing mostly the same games, since nearly all game releases will be cross-platform.
I can imagine this might be fun for sports games, where you could have eight people playing different positions on a team, and then playing against another team over live. Now, beyond that I have no idea what it could be used for. Maybe someone will come up with something. While I can't imagine it being a feature that would get much use, I don't see anything wrong with it either. It's always nice to have the option.
The only other possibility I can think of is that Microsoft has alternative controllers in mind, where one user might be using more than one controller at a time, thus giving themselves some extra controller bandwidth if needed. But that's pure speculation.
I suppose they're doing this to match the Xbox One, but it's a mostly useless feature on either console. I'm not going to give voice commands. It's gimmicky. It doesn't fit with how I use a console, and if I can turn it off I will. It's not a bad thing to be included, but it's not exactly a must-have feature, either.
@Geardudu @Dezuria @DVONvX @07wintert Sony tends to not talk about these sorts of details. Which is how it avoids criticism in the gaming press. It's smart, at one level, and frustrating at another. Because I do care about these technical details. They're not enough to move me individually, but I like to know the details anyway. Why isn't someone needling Sony for more details so we can get a straight up comparison?
@lowgman1234 Again, even when MS is doing something right, they get slagged. Because it's not about the gaming, it's all about fanboy shit. This is getting ridiculous.
