PS3 from buzz to bust

TO PLAY'S THE THING

The big story in computer games this year was HOW TO BLOW A HUGE LEAD, by Sony. Its PlayStation 2 was the champ in the last round of the console wars. This time Sony bet on a chip called the Cell and a disc format called Blu-ray. They're probably awesome, but how would anybody know? The PS3 is hideously expensive--it goes for up to $600--and Sony manufactured only a piddling few hundred thousand for the U.S., fewer for Japan. Plus it's hard to write games for; the launch titles were lame. You know you're in trouble when you get beat by something called a Wii. -- The Times

The REAL truth about the comparism of PS3 and Xbox 360.

( Please refer to the article " Xbox 360 vs PS3 graphics comparism " )

t's obvious why the PS3 removes items from the rear view mirror. The graphics of the PS3 can't handle the extra load. LOL! A definite hands-down win for the Xbox360 in this game. Expect to see more upsets as the Xbox360's power is shown more and more equal or better than the PS3. It's not long before people start to realize what I've been saying for over a year now: The PS3 is old hardware designed for the market over one year ago. In terms of Moore's law, it's almost dead even before it hit the shelves. Sony in it's stupidity to get too much hardware out also had to scale back the PS3 over the last year. The graphics and CPU chips are actually running slower than originally specified, giving another edge to the Xbox360 which runs at full specified speed on it's hardware. The only plus this gives the PS3 is that it runs a little quieter due to less heat. But the downfall is seen here where they had to scale back the game in order to make it run. Sad Sony, sad.

Even those suckers that buy the PS3 for it's Blu-Ray player will soon find sadness. Sony's Blu-Ray implementation in the PS3 is sub-par. On normal HD-DVD or Blu-Ray players, you also get upscaled DVD playback so they look better. Not so on the PS3. And you still won't get Blu-Ray movies unless you have the correct HDTV set, which most HD sets are not setup for PS3 Blu-Ray movies correctly. Sony's dying a slow painful (painful for their consumers) death. I'm glad I jumped ship after the PSP. I'll be sitting on my paradise island watching you guys sink into the not-so-great blue...
