I'm just kidding, the only way to damage your graphic card is to mess with its voltage settings to overclock it, or, overclock it without enough ventilation, that would cause overheat and fry the card and your mom will spank you.

I had the same (and some other) problems with a GTX 560, turns out it was the latest Nvidia drivers, I had to switch back to the previous version.
