is everyone sure that the reseting battery technique works or will it mess up the console??? I really want to know the truth plzz

Mr_Fujiv1

Sony posted a statement saying to leave your console alone for 24 hours. Playing games or trying to jury rig something can result in potential data loss/corruption of files, etc. I wouldn't do anything.

I think sony are waiting for it to fix itself so thats why they have said 24hours... if its not fixed by 12pm tonight then they will get to work!

Doesn't fix itself. I'm in Japan, it's past midnight. Doesn't work.

haha not at all... I was trying to get on and play Uncharted 2 tonight. Frustration ensues!

BTW, it won't fix itself...so don't be waiting around for midnight. I just checked mine (I'm in Japan)

Ok, so I live in Japan, and decided I'd turn on my system to see if it being March 2nd means anything.

And nope, it doesn't. System is reset to 1/1/2000 (which would mean it was 12/31/99 yesterday, but I avoided turning it on because I heard about the errors first)

However, I don't seem to have lost my trophies.

So, an autofix at midnight doesn't seem likely for those in the USA either.

(BTW, my PS3 is Japanese, I have USA and JPN games on here as well.)

Is it 2012 already? Earthquakes in Haiti, Chile...now this. The sky's falling, fellas, and we don't even have a video game to spend the rest of our lives with...

But seriously, this is kind of ridiculous...Cell processor of the future, but they used an internal battery from some refurbished Walkmans built in the 80's? That's the only explanation I can think of. They said, "we got all these unsold Pocketstations, what do we do with them? Let's put the batteries in the PS3!"

djsundowner

Do you really want to compare malfunctioning PS3s to earthquakes? Humanity really has become jaded if we can even joke about that.

It's sarcasm. I'm saying people have acted like the world is ending, when in reality it's just a video game and worse things are happening in the world...
