Polygon gave it a 7.5 and Toronto Sun gave it n 8 as well. I think everything is fine with this review. Not everyone is easily satisfied by a game. I have gotten bored of most games these days. The last game I played that I thought deserved a 9 or higher was Portal 2. Tom speaks for the small population who has higher standards, and is not as easily swayed by popular opinion. I think he has more integrity than most reviewers out there and I can more than respect him for that.
"Aware of what is going on in the room at any given point" and they base their marketing to us on this? So they are spying on us Watch Dog style? This is actually a great concept and probably will be very profitable to Sony. Google makes millions from data mining the information you input into their search engine. Now Sony can data mine our activity in the living room "Person of Interest" style! And people are willingly giving in.
@raweewat A lot of people view gamers the same way they view comic book fans. You might not like what some refer to as "Art" games, but its those type of games that try to break the mold to reach the people that think of us in this way. You are not going to change public opinion. If every movie out there was directed by Michael Bay it would be the same in the movie industry. For the last 10 years I feel like we have been playing games that were directed by Michael. I'm sick of re-skinned first person shooters and hack and slash. The fact that video games always get blamed for real life violence shows the way most people view the industry and games.
@Fade2black001 @bonzaibillie Yes pretty much. It's an indie game. It's not a 50 million dollar budged game with 200 people working on it. The main team is like half a dozen people. Most indie games are 2D. The guy that is making this made enough money on his first game (Braid), so now he can make something 3D. A lot of people are getting tired of seeing re-skinned first person shooters come out with minor changes. I have been playing games for over 20 years. Games used to be all about discovery and not 1 hour tutorials, and constant direction and instructions on where to go.
Why is everyone on here acting like they are saying that violent video games are the only and root cause of violence in our society? People like to imagine that advertisement in social media has no effect on them; that they can just shrug it off because they are "mature" enough. Meanwhile we walk around in our with iPhones while wearing our name brand clothing and fighting over which console brand is better. The media has more influence on people now than they ever have. Video games not only a reflection of society, but a part of it. Do people really think theycan sit in front of a TV playing a video game and have cause no effect on them? You really think violence in video games has NO part in it?
I'm not getting a ps3/720 because I have a 3 year old gaming PC with a 6 month old video card that plays anything at 1080p at 60-100fps. I was hopping that the Wii U would spark my interest but it is looking worse and worse for Nintendo. It will sell well until Christmas after which point the sales are going to tank unless they show us a system seller gamer. We are having a deja vu of the Wii but this time they have even lost most of the casual gamers. I miss the days of the N64, and even the GameCube days :(
Than again I feel MS and Sony are in some deep shit because I don't think their consoles are going to sell well neither. At least not as well as this generation's consoles. I still feeling sticking to PC gaming is the safest way to go if you have no interest in first party games.
