I've been a loyal (read: paying) subscriber to gamespot for years and I've been pretty happy with the site, the commentary and the reviews.. I just cancelled my subscription due to the whole Jeff-getting-fired thing and I hope many other do the same.

I personally didn't find him all that engaging (though his review of Kane & Lynch was spot on) but that is besides the point, GameSpot's mission is to provide commentary which both entertains and informs and this proves that they're willing to side with the sponsors over their own journalist.. definitely a no-no.

I realize that it's all rumor mongering at this point, but the fact that the video review was pulled (still available on youtube) and he abruptly left says enough. So at this point -- F**k GameSpot - I hope that cnet networks, which is already on shaky financial footing, either corrects this misstep orlooses both the subscribers and traffic they require to remain in business.
