There was this one RPG game that I played on the SNES, when I was 8, that was about a floating island that was taken over by these evil peeps. You started out the game as pre-named characters that were already at high levels. After that you could play as the character that you named. Sorry, that's about all I remember. Has anyone heard of this? It wasn't made by Square Soft, or Enix, I think, so that's why I don't remember it as well.

It might have something to do with the fact that your console is a PAL-region one. Do you live in the UK or someplace that uses PAL? Also, what model was your CRT? It's also possible that there is a resolution conflict. You should research SCART as well. It will look quite a bit better than those other connections you were trying. Try your SF out with another HDTV, if you can by the way.

Warning : Slightly Off-Topic

I have a disc for my PSX called Playstation Underground : Jampack '99 or something along those lines. I found it in some old boxes that had been in storage for about 10 years. It had this weird, low-res video on it that was about wrestlers playing the latest WWE game. It ended when one of the wrestlers smashed the TV they were playing on.

@Byshop: Cool. Macross is by far the best one. Try to see if you can watch the remastered version, too. Also, watch out for the strange "bath scenes" in Southern Cross. (There is also one in Macross I think.) Hell, DBZ was worse though.

@Byshop: Yes, Byshop, I know. I've seen every episode of Robotech, and the original serialized animes (Which are almost the same thing). I've also read a good portion of the Robotech comics/novels. Genesis Climber was its own show before it was combined with the other two shows though. It was pretty strange, and I mainly mentioned it to see if anyone had heard of it. There is also this weird Japan-exclusive OVA that virtually no one has seen, and it's based off Genesis Climber, and it's made of combined new and old footage, which is a bit better.

All right, cool. I was just wondering because no one really talks about Gundam a whole lot. I'm glad that someone has heard of Macross too. How many of you guys have heard of Genesis Climber Mospeada though, huh?

This franchise has an unbelievable amount of games in it. Just look at the Wikipedia page, there have been Gundam games on every console from the obscure Fujitsu consoles to the well known Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo ones. The first one came out before Donkey Kong, which came out in '81.
