Quite alot has happend over the last week, I finaly got Guitar Hero 3 :D Fight Night Round 3 :D and a new HDTV :D.
I have played through Guitar Hero 3 over the weekend and it is, by far, the best GH game to date. The songlist is incredible, a load of some of my favourite song and then the rest are just really fun to play. However, saying that, there are a few let downs... Bloc Party's Helecopter is a really bad song as it is and the GH3 tranlastion dosnt do it much justice. That goes for Kaiser Cheifs - Ruby and When you were young by The Killers. The best songs have to be Metalica - One, QOTSA - 3's and 7's, Muse - Knights of Cydonia and Dragonforce - Through the fire and flames. These are also the hardest song to play on the game as well, especially the Metalica solo. The game looks fantastic, and thats just the PS2 version. My only critism, graphics wise, is that the drummer looks absolutly terrible, this wasnt such a problem in GH2 because the camera did not focus on the drummer everytime there is a drum solo. The drummer sits there, completly still and the only the arms will move as he performs incredible looking drum solo's.
I also bought Fight Night Round 3 for the PSP over the weekend, again I am very impressed with the game. I have played alot of Fight Night games before and enjoyed them alot but this one has got me addicted the most so far. As for first impressions the graphics are excellent considering it is a PSP game, the soundtrack really suits the game (It's moslty hip-hop but it isnt all that bad) and the career mode is very enjoyable.
Somethign that really suprised me over the weekend was that I got my chritmas present very early, a 19" LCD HDTV!. I had asked for a new TV for christmas and over the weekend my grandma decided to get it me before the christmas shopping rush really started to take off. I bought the TV from Currys.digital forjust under £300, It is HD Ready (1080i), has DVB-T Freeview, a DVD player built in aswell as a load of ports for Componant, HDMI, PC-VGA and some AV sockets. I got it home only to find out that the idiots down at Currys forgot to include the power cable for the thing!. I had to trail back into the Town Centre to pick it up aswell as a really expensive freeview ariel (It gets HD Freeview so im happy with it!). The TV is brilliant, much better than the awfull portable TV I had before and I cant wait to see what a PS3 would look like on it! All I need now is to get paid for a website I made and I can go and buy it with Assasians Creed.
I doubt I will be able to get the Tekken review up here soon, I seem to apologise for that everytime I do a blog but I really dont have time at the moment. I will finish it before I start any other reviews. Thats it for this week, I dont think much will be happening over the next week, apart from alot of coursework :/.
