different game/movie..

nope, no artifacting.... and I don't have another cable, I'd like to try another solution before buying a new cable (it's still an expense...). The grainy image is the worst - I have it even on the main menu no dark areas. How come 1080i output looks better than 720p output on a panel which support only up to 720p? Is it possible because my panel is 1366x768 screen resolution?

I got a PS3 as a gift (not brand new, bought on ebay) and I plugged it in using HDMI cable to my 42" LCD (Toshiba). My TV supports up to 720p image. I'm having lots of problems with its image quality (which basicly - sucks). 1) Screen tearing - this is very annoying 2) Videos seems to be freezing or frame-skipping so the videos are not smooth as they should be. 3) The PS3 is currently set to output 1080i image (even though I have 720p panel) - If I change the output to 720p the picture becomes a little bit grainy. Is it me? Is it the cable? Is it the PS3 device? What's going on? Shouldn't it provide an amazing video quality?
