I just scooted past the replies, I dont think there are to many laptop fans here I Would garner. Check out http://www.notebookreview.com in the discussion part which is there forums. They have sections for every known laptop brand and its heavily used site. I go there everyday for hours, its very wonderous website hehe. Sounds like alienware might be a bit more power under the hood then what you may think. You said something about wanting something to substitue an councel. Well I would suggest maybee an asus republic of gamers G series laptop, maybee a G73/1500$ or G53/1450$. You might also look at an MSI660r/1550$ or sager. The one I would reccomend with you with full confidence knowing its the best gaming laptop there is right now, which is a 15.6 inch sager np 8150 which can be bought from xoticpc. Yes I would definetly recommend that laptop as the best current laptop for gaming even though it isnt SLI It has all the newest Technoligy for gaming. You have to customise it from xoticpc and it starts at 1269$.
I have been gaming on laptop since alienware brought its first line out. Alot of what the industry thinks about laptops and gaming has started to shift away from desktops being the only capable machines to play games on. Anyway this thread was to emphasize laptops as hardware capable of gaming. I have a few videos of my new laptop, the specs are listed below. I realize probably every person on this forum section litterly hates laptops. I get so much flack from people who cant stand to even accept laptops can game at all. I have been in many altercations and verbal arguments over the matter. heh, I will say I have owned desktops also. There are tons of games out there. I recently got a new laptop so I purchased COD:BO and Deadspace2. I love COD:BO besides for the fact it stops responding randomly ever 20 hours or so. The theme of it is so cool and mystical. Also looking forward to picking up Dead Space 2 here in few hours for midnight release. You will want to watch out for a number of games mmorpgs this year, namly tera online, rift, star wars the old republic, guildwars2 and some others are all AAA titles and are going to be great. Also Battlefield 3 and Modern warfare 3 are suppose to hit this year or land. Lots of good games coming!!!!
2010, hmm...I really like the theme of Black Ops except it randomly stops responding on me some times, but other then that I love it. I was without a laptop most of the year though so I didnt play all that much. All the mmorpgs released this year were fail all over the place with All Points Bulletin, star trek online and others I wont bother with, oh final fantasy 14.
