How does this game own my soul?

I just recently went back to the old Animal Crossing on the Gamecube and realized how crappy everything was. I just don't understand why I was soo addicted to it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to say the same for this new Animal Crossing for the Wii. I've already been at it for like 2-3 hours a day. x__x
