Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Blu-ray short review.

People either love this movie or just absolutaly dispise it, so.... I'm not going to go into specifics about the story cause it's a very wacked out and nutty plot. I'm going to assume that since you are reading this that you already like the movie and just want to know the quality of the blu-ray disk is. I have to say the I expected more out of the video quality, the brightness of the image seems to be turned down a bit, but that's not to say that the quality is all that bad. The image clarity is very sharp and definition is good (my girl friend mentioned to me that you can really tell which actors have funked up skin). Another fault that I had with the disk is that there is NO main menu. You pop in the disk and it plays right away but there is a minor pop-up menu that you can access that is pretty much standard on all blue ray disks. The extras are the same as the dvd and the audio is awesome. It has a 5.1 dolby track and a 5.1 dolby uncompressed. I can't really coment to much about the 5.1 dolby uncompressed cause as of yet I don't have a receiver which does HDMI switching. The regular 5.1 is great though. I really do love this movie, it's put a smile on my face that's been missing from recent comedies and crazy movies like this. If you like this movie as much as I do then this is definitive movie disk to have.
