Jared Drake Bell was born on the 27th of June in 1986 to Robin Dodson, a professional billiards player, and Joe Bell in Orange County,California. Drake has two older brothers named Rob and Travis and an older sister and a number of half-siblings on both his mother and father's sides. Drake is the youngest child in his family. Robin and Joe divorced and Robin married her current husband, Roy, who is now Drake's step father.

Drake has many musical influences that help him write his music. Such as The Beatles, The Who, The Ramones, The Clash, David Gray, Elvis Costello, and many more. These influences helped Drake write the songs on both of his current albums. His first album is called "Telegraph" which was released on September 27, 2005. Drake claims "Telegraph" to be the darker album of his. Drake's other album, called "It's Only Time" was released on December 5, 2006. The songs on "It's Only Time" are a lot more cheerful and happy because Drake wrote them while he was recovering from his near-fatal car crash in December of 2005, which caused him a broken neck, a broken jaw that had to be wired shut for a number of months, cuts on his face, knocked out teeth, and a two-inch-deep cut on his chin. Drake began acting at age 5, but got into his first movie and television shows in 1995, at age 9.
