I've seriously been disappointed with the Wii's 3rd party support, especially after them reassuring us that they had so much of it before launch. There is doubt that Nintendo is probably the best game developer on the planet, but they are basically just making their systems to revolve around them. They wanted to break into the casual crowd, and they did that, but they left certain games like No more Heroes and even one of their own games, Metroid Prime 3, out to dry because they didn't revolve around their plan.
I don't think I saw 1 commercial for MP3, and people that claim they did, it was like a day before release. It's just not right that they arn't treating these studios with the respect that they deserve for all of their hard work.
Hell, they won't even let Hudson, (who has worked with them forever in they very popular cash-in Mario party) use Mii support in their upcoming sports game. And I know exactly why too, because they don't want Wii sports to have any serious competition, and that title will surely fail also.
There is no doubt that it is almost reason enough to own a Wii for just the Nintendo titles, they are that good. But sometimes I don't want to play Mario and Zelda, I want a full fledged new game that not only will you love, but people on other systems will envy.
You can say, "Hey, I got the new Mario." Of course everyone's gonna Love it because it's Mario, but if Wii owners were able to say something along the lines of, "Hey, let me show you this crazy new game called Bioshock," Then we would know we've strck gold, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I'm definatly picking up no more heroes, because I want it to be that game, but there is no way it's going to sell enought for that to happen, because it doesn't fit into Nintendo's plan. (And yes, Suda 51 is very obscure.
