@SolidIngram

people are quite anti-Microsoft these days so, anything to bash them makes the basher seem cool. i'm sure if this was a PS4 article, those fanboys would make it a big deal too. for me this is great new because i don't want to go through more than one Xbox like i did last time. and i would also be delighted if Sony had some announcement like this. my two PS3s over time have become just as loud as my 360. so being that i plan on geting an Xbox One and PS4, i'm hoping they both have reduced sound and no horrible overheating issues.

for me, after playing The Last of Us, one of the most violent games i've ever played and i've been gaming since the Atari and ColecoVision, i found myself not wanting to cause harm to another person. in some weird way it made me respect life more. but i must say the first 15 to 30 minutes of the game was quite depressing because of what happens to one of the characters. funny with this article, no matter what, the liberal media will find a way to keep video games as the scapegoat for people making stupid choices. i also am not gonna say doing something repetitive won't cause some effect...but i think people conditioned themselves to blame other things and not take a look in the mirror and blame themselves for their behavior.

what annoys me about all this that movies and now even prime time tv shows are just as violent, but somehow games get all the blame. i figure Hollywood and Washington are in bed together. another thing that annoys me is that inner city kids, and cities with high crime never seem to get washington's attention. those gun crime far outweigh the %'s of mass shootings, yet no one looked into that to see if games are the cause for those. this crap is only an issue if white children are the victims. black children have been victims of gun crimes for many years and i can't remember a time where the government wanted to look into games as the cause of violence in the 'hood.

hand guns are usually the choice of high crime areas, not assault rifles. criminals don't do background checks because they are criminals. the mentally ill could be triggered by anything to make them violent...hell the sane can lose it every once in awhile.

i dunno, i think a person already prone to violence will act out sooner or later, i just hate that one form of entertainment gets the blame while the other doesn't, but both are doing the same thing.

@Patohua1 not that i'm against violent video games because i play those too, but why is violence acceptable, and sexual content in games aren't. i'm not saying i want a game with sexual content in it, but i'm not against it either. my point is, i'm confused at what is acceptable in our society and what is not. we can murder ppl in games, but don't use harsh language. like some movies may get bumped up to an R rating, sometimes not because of the violence, but the F-word may be used to many times.

i will never understand how we easily except violent material, yet anything pertaining to sexuality, people freak out. not sure what it is about people that support violence, or readily except violence have a hard time accepting sexuality in certain media. although violent material does have it's controversies, it's nothing like how people react to sexualized material.

it's ok to shoot a child in the head, Walking Dead for example, and somehow that isn't awkward for some people. but a chick in a cheerleader outfit might be a bit over the top.
