@jimclirad: Maybe because they can sell the 3DS/2DS? Nintendo might feel it's pointless to push the Switch when they can't keep up with demand? I don't know I just want more Switch games.

To clarify Metroid Prime 4 or a new 3D game, not a 2D MetroidVania I think there's enough of those games out now. (even if it is the original)
