Top 10 my favourite Anime of all time (not really, but the ones that i watched)

ok, these days i don't even have 5 minutt to spend on the internet and Gamespot, the A-Levels is killing me, and it doesn't sound good if you have chosen the most stressful subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Pure Math, and your english isn't that great, yeah thats right i moved here to Birmingham from Norway, while its nice to meet other people and diffrent backgrounds, however the Chavs are really irritating me, i mean i went to every game shop in this city and guess what, no FREAKING gamecube games and double the space of the PSP to the DS, those guys are like brainwashed, from Sony.

well anyway am talking about my favourite Anime that i watched so far, am huge Anime fan but never actually watched every Anime out there, cause i have no time to watch all but i have certain favourites that every Anime fan would (or could to be more accurete) agree with me so here they are: -

10- Bleach: -

yep i here Anime fans screaming alrady, give me a brake, Bleach isn't that special, its pretty much deja-vu all over agin cause i have seen every little detail about bleach somewhere else, you want a trouble maker main character Sakuragi Hanamichi is the man for you (from Slam Dunk), do u want to go to other world MAR is doing the excact same thing (while in a crappy way) and other thing that i should mention but am afraid from its fans. But why is it even in my top 10? well, the thing is its very worth watching it if you don't mind the similiarties to other animes, the art work is one of the best i have seen, and the humor is well done and very funny too unlike other animes out there *cough* Naruto *cough* and the characters are diverse and intresting, while the clothing style could be better, its alright, after all Bleach is very intresting Anime, that if u mind cliches.

9- .Hack://Sign: -

Dot Hack Sign, was one of those anime that has the potential to be very diffrent but never tried that, i mean how could you forget that you are the only Anime that are actually told the story throgh MMORPG, not only that but very realstic not Virtually, and how could you forget that you are the Only Anime that have the most depressed main character ever and you could use him so many creative things (poor ol' Tsukasa) and how could you forget that you are the first anime that made the word "Glitch" seem to be important enough just to minuplate the world. after all that trash talk i guess you are wondering why is it even on my top ten list, well let me tell you something, unless you hate slow start, and i mean very very slow start (well you will understand this when you except the Series to finish at ep. 21 and find ouut that the story actually getting intresting at ep. 17), you will find this series very intresting, with almost everything as non-stereotypical stuff - if only they could remove some Anime girls attitude that would be perfect, dot.Hack is one of the anime that make you say "why wouldn't you do that there and that here" but at the same time it is good at its own right.

8-  Ouran High School Host Club: -

OK, beore you say "what the hel", just listen, this Anime is one of those Romantic Comedy (which i actually dislike), but the diffrence between this and other Romantic Comedy Animes, it's actually funny and there are less romantic stuff in here, really. OK, the main Story is  centering around a group of high school friends all in the same club - the Host Club, this high shcool is mainly for rich people, but Haruhi isn't rich at all, thus when he brakes a vase -accidentaly- upon leaving the room, this makes that he is unvolentary stays and do odd job for this club, mainy entertaining the high-shcool girls, but afterwards the club will notice (more ike know) that he is not a he, but a she. The funny thing is in the Anime, how Haruhi react with diffrent charcetrs and events, you will notice how the exaggeration is over the top, because they are Ultra-wealthy and on of the funny line that you will hear often is when Haruhi says sighing "those rich bastards" when for example make a big deal of an Insatnt Cofee and saying that this how poor people drink cofee and somehow every gets addict to it, its just hilarious, not to mention the charcaters, something must be said about the main character. Voiced by fan favorite Sakamoto Maaya, Haruhi is the eye in the hurricane. She is really the only sane character in the entire series, which is great. She thinks the boys' antics are lame--as are the girls' reactions. Speaking as a non-shounen-ai fan, who just "doesn't get it," I greatly appreciate and thusly relate to her character. this is Anime is so funny and silly at times but really worth the time, and worth mentioning is LAST ALLIANCE rocks.

7- Naruto: -

Yep the next Dragon Ball (in terms of the popularity)is very obvious, to include in any list, its actualy very good anime and one of the most original Anime latly (not that original, but for me, Naruto s a bit anit-clichee character), as every one knows its about Uzumaki Naruto, an orpan child that wishs to be the next Hokage, to show the villege of Konoha that he's not as an idiot as he looks ( i don't bame them at the first 80 epesode, he is a stupid person that actuay goes into everyone's nerves). The Anime itsef has one of the hell story......... not finished.

others comming sooon!!! the school is taking my free time.

E3 is over and here is my final thought. (Press Confrence)

WOW, E3 is gone now and before I was anticipating it like crazy but hey it was a great E3 everything had its ups and downs, right? Well what is my thought? Here is my impression, first the E3 began with the big 3 press conferences after every ones thought about them, the real E3 starts where there are tons of games at the show floor. The big 3 was the centre of the show (as usually), and when we are talking about games, press conference, technology, 3rd party... Etc, we are talking about those 3 companies: Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, so lets get start it: -

Press conferences: -

 Sony: -

When everyone is talking about the press conferences, the Sony one come the least likable one, but hey they were not that bad, so here is the conclusion: -

good :- Sony had to show the world that the next generation is what’s really matter, there were ton of PS3 there, and the games looked awesome, from how nice the animation can be in heavenly sword to how the smokes look real in Resistance fall of man, and the trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots was awesome, if Sony can deliver this much of graphic detail on its machine then it will sell huge, but the most surprise that I was really pleased about was Final Fantasy XIII, the trailer was just mind blowing, nice surprise Sony.

Bad: - not so fast, that was great and all, but first they started really late (40 minutes), then they were talking about how great the PSP was (the DS is selling better and faster, Sony get over it) and showed bunch of awful PSP game (by the way no 3rd party games), and there were boring Power point stuff (again), and there GT HD, and talk about bringing the boringness into a press conference, that was just a nightmare (because I slept), then there were people who were saying how good the Playstation brand was and bla, bla, that’s just amusing, and fake trailers that they were saying it was real (or did they really said that?) and horrible Genji 2 demo, that game was very very slow, but worse of all, was the tilt controller that the came and said  "we have a huge surprise" yeah right, all in all it was just awful one, it had its ups but fail miserably                        4/10.

Nintendo: -

Am huge Nintendo fan and very pleased with the Nintendo one, yes it has its downs but it was very memorable one:

Good: - the Nintendo press conference was filled with sparkling life, it was exciting and I never felt bored, it first began with this great orchestra from Zelda games that was just rocking the whole stage of, then the MAN came, yes you know him, he is all about kicking ass and I don't need to introduce him (he is Reggie Fill-Aims). The way he was talking about was energise and great, the trailer montages were very cool ones, showing dozens of games (most of them suppressed me) and the games that were demoed was good, Red Steel looked not that special but how to played was the main attraction (but I thought the graphics was pleasant), Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was excellent the gameplay was intuitive and great (but am still buying the Gamecube version) and Wii sport was great and funny to see Saturo Iwata, Shiguru Miyamoto, and Reggie with the contest winner.

Bad: - but unfortunately there were some let downs, the most important part is being no actual price and date launch, that’s pretty big let down which makes the fans frustrating and speculating more (which is not a good thing), but the most disappoint thing to me personally was there were no Gamecube games, and they are not supporting it further more, yes trailers was there, and its very good to have Super Paper Mario, Donkey Kong: Bongo Blast and the most important game to me Baten Kaitos Origins, but that’s a less support than expected from Nintendo, am disappointed, and there were no GBA games playable at E3. Another thing is the DS, the 3rd party support is less and Nintendo I want more. Over all the press conference was very good one and importantly every one was having fun  8/10.

microsoft: -

I will adimt, I hate Microsoft and thier X-Fl... i mean X-Box, but i will say they done well enough for thier fans but they didn't make me go:-  wow, I'll buy a X-Box 360, lets see: -

good:-  last years E3, it was a nightmare for the system, they were advertising it more than showing its cpabilities and games, but this year was diffrent, it was game after game after game after game, and thats what sell a system, their presentation were very good and truthworthy (thats against thier policy, Right?), thier montages were very exciting (again to thier fans) and the Halo trailer was cool enough to welcom the casual gamers, but the thing that struck me was GTA 4 for the system, i thought the series was exclusive to Sonys PS3 and for a sec i thuoght it was a exclusive title for X-Box 360, that would bring some cash to microsoft, but the anouncement that were pleasing was the PC is still ROCKING, from Prey to Crysis to Spore to Bioshock, thats some amazing games.

bad: - ok, am not saying this because of my hatred twords them, but those games were targeting tword the casual gamers more than hardcore gamers (ad for thier fans), especially RPG gamer and Anime lovers (like me), there were absolutly no talk about how they will dominate the Japanese market. Heck, Squere-Enix can abond someone and thats hapened to Microsoft, the games often were relating to one thing according to thier games that were trailered: - Violence is what X-Box 360 keeps alive, yes there were Viva Pinata and some couple sport games, but with Halo 3, Gears of Wars, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Lost Planet and more, that shows the shooters to others on X-Box 360 is 7:1, beside that, if you are a Sony fan or Nintendo there are nothing to get exciting about (unless Sony scared you with thier price), and thats a bit desapointing since they were claiming that this next-gen hardware will succes in japan, but no RPG game beside EnHcaNeD ArM, the talk was good enough to get thier place higher than the sonys     6/10

so thats my verdict over those press confrence, you can just agree or disagree with what i mentioned by commenting. And i just hate X-Box, and Go Nintendo.

Top 10 my most anticpation of E3 2006:

every now and then i'll write about top 10 list of diffrent things, mostly about games (but sometimes it could be other things that i like), it should be showing how my game taste are and how hardcore gamer am i, this time it is about my anticipation of E3: -

The next chapter of kingdom heart: -

after hearing on the forums how great Kingdom Heart II is i can't hold my breath to wait this game for Europe realse (come on Squere, why do you hate Europe, i understand engalnd doesn't like RPG but the whole europe?) and after hearing the secret ending is showing it will be some kind of Kingdom Heart 3, i cant even wait for the next cahpter of the series, it was very sad that i really didin't enjoy the first one, my cousine is freaking fan of this series...... any way, this game will be huge.... i mean the next chapter will be huge.

Baten kaitos 2, Gamcube: -

this game is one of the anticpaiting game for the almost-the-dead-consol Gamecube, and hell yes bring it on Namco. I can't wait to play one of my favourite games sequels (or prequel), this game is on my waiting list and Namco (or should i call you NamcoBandi), don't desapoint me, i want this game on the show floor at E3. And for those who says the Gamecube is dead, screw you.

Prey, PC: -

after i saw the trailers of this game i just can't wait for some more of this truly revoultionizing-the-some-how-boring-genre (and don't get me wrong, i love FPS), but evoulution is what we need, Prew brings the deminsion gameplay into reality that never before gameplay triks and skill, the graphic is absolutly stuinning and who said the doom engine is old? just look how beutifull this game is, am waiting for this game, thats for sure.

anticipation that may not be at E3?

did anyone thought that this is an anticipation?  but we must dream sometime right?ok, right to the subject: - i truly waiting that Namco (now NamcoBandai) bring Namco X Capcom to this continent, i truly do, because dude it is Ryu and Jin Kazam in a single game, i truly want wild arms 5 will be showing how coo, it is. beside that i want Nintendo to bring Jump superstar and i want more naruto games (and there is no single naruto games here at europe), and more games to Europe, but those games will not be there, also worth mentioning is Mother 3, Persona 3 and Jump SuperStar.

The enovations of Okami, Plastation2: -

This Playststation 2 title is the second franchise from Clover Studios after Viwethiful Joe, and its the most enovative title in the PS2 titles ever, this game let you play as a wolf with ability to grow a tree and help the people (just as a game not in real life) the art style and the graphic is complitly uniqe just as Viwithifful Joe did before, those guys are crazy just as Hedeo Kojima and Soda51 (in a positive way).

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Paitriot and Devil May Cry 4, PS3: -

If there is a seller system for the Plastation 3 it would be those two games, after the 2 minutt long of the MGS4 trailer and a little glimps of Dante with his duel guns, the whole video game player was making a buzz about it (well at least for the MGS4 trailer),i know it will be some kind of form to MGS4 to be at E3 but  if Capcom say there is no DMC4 gamplay footege i will be mad, just think about how cool and stilish Dante could be on HD. Those two games is what i need for my future PS3, just two games (because am poor).

Playstation 3:-

After that mind blowing trailer that called Killzone PS3, we want more and more of this huge system that Ken Kuturagi said it deliver 4d into this market before Hollywood (can that be possible). Yeah thats right,I am a huge Nintendo fan, and to see how expensive some consol can be is always vey funny to see, the blu-ray may not be that important to to me but its the reason why people want the PS3, right? and how can we forget about 3rd party games, thats why i own the PS2 and to some RPG titles running on HD is great. This E3 will be PS3 vs Wii.

Square-Enixes games: -

How good Final Fantasy XII is? why did the japanese hate Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Carbiros? what a great game we have missed in Final Fantasy III? how quirky is Dragon Quest Rocket Slime is? how beutiful is Cilderen of Mana? does Vilkyre Profile: Lenneth have more of the same game that was on the original PS? how "preqully" can Vilkyre Profile be? how cool is Zack in Before Crises - FF VII? does the Dawn of Mana tell the people how good the Mana series was and still is? those question and more that i am looking forword to be answered. And trust me, FF VII: Dirge of cerbirus did NOT sell well in Japan even thought it IS a RPG (gun RPG) and its from Square-Enix, never less it has the name Final Fantasy VII on it.

The mighty Wii: -

Right now if you head to the forums, one thing is for sure is talkeble, the Wii, this system will make your head suffer becase the secrets and the puzzles that Mr. Myamoto and Iwata give the fans all the time, they won't reveal anything about this system because the competitors may steal the ideas from it (am looking at you Sony), but that cofussion will end at E3, or maybe some of it since they said it will be revael at E3, so Nintendo fans (like me) be READY, it is THE showtime.

The next Super Smash Bros. Game, Wii: -

this is what evryone is talking about (well except in my school, those guys are jerk, the just buy ps2 games and don't even know what FF X is.) and for me its THE next game on the whole planet, I am playing SSBM for almost 2 years (am kind of slow of buying games when it came out) and never get bored of it, now thats what i call unlimited game value. So Nintendo do not disapoint me now, bring this game at E3 and include new charcters in there and maybe third party ones (thinking about sonic).

so thats my anticipation of this years E3, and am pretty sure that it will be an awsome one, i just hope the DS pwns the PSP out of the market this year, and I will buy  a PSP beacuase the name of metal gear is calling me with Acid and Acid 2, so till E3 let speculate.

Top 10 of my favorite games of all time.

every now and then i'll write about top 10 list of diffrent things, mostly about games (but sometimes it could be other things that i like), it should be showing how my game taste are and how hardcore gamer am i, this time it is about my favourite games of all time: -

Donkey Kong 64, Nintendo 64: -

the time i heard nintendo was selling Rare i was upset not just they were making excellent games for the nintendo system, but also the faithful to Nintendo, one of the proof is Donkey Kong 64, it was just a huge game that i spent lot of hours and hours, the gamplay was jus great and comfortable to the controller and was a blast to be forced to play all the minigames to have the big bananas, it was just adventure that it is hard to forget.

Final Fantasy IX, playstation: -

who doesen't love final fantasy? any one? well, there is no denying that final fantasy franchise is the most successive RPG games and one of the most successive game franchises ever created, but you may say hey 9?! what about 7?1 well on of the answers is that i've been fan of the older FF games and 7 doesen't contuniue with the trend of them, the character art, the soundtrack the story and even the plot, but 9 brings all that with prittier grarhphic, long joutney and hefty gamplay and awsome battle system which make it one of the best games on the market, and dude the main character has a tail, yeah i know he's a bad ass character.

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, Gamecube: -

With that long name (which is preferd just as baten kaitos) it helped the gamcubes RPG hunger and what a help, sure it was underated bu the most gamers and those who played were itching thier ears from hearting because of the worst voice acting in the history of video gaming (espesially on the european version which the changed the voce acters and the acsent which is more painful than the american one, those lucky folks) but with magnus card battle system, it was one of the best battle system ever created, which envovles stragy and luck and one of the biggest plot twist in RPG gaming, this game could be the ultimate sleeper hit of the genaration, it is that good. just be sure you turn that voice acting off from the main menu.

Suikoden V, Playstation 2: -

Sure the Final Fantasy is the most known RPG, by the casuals but if you ask a RPG veteran about his favourite games you will hear the word: - suikoden. It's one of the best RPG series to date, with it's unique dress designs(?!) to the 108 stars of destiny and from it's melodic sondtracks to it's excellent story, suikoden does manage to do that and more, but after the desapointing fourth game of the series fams wondered if the classic series is near the dead, fans sure was happy to know that konami is diveloping, but the question was: - will it suck like the fourth one? and after testing it i can answer the question with a big smile on my face when am saying NO, suikoden V is easly the best in the series with its stragic battle system, which YES, they are back to the 6 character-in-the-same-battle root with its own flavour and yes the story is itresting like always, so thanks konami.

Tales of symphonia, Gamecube: -

tales of symphonia was kind of game that will invite you to JRPG genre, so if you are an Elder Scrolls or Diablo nerd (which they are type of game that ii dislike) and you want to see what japnese games are like look no further, the Tales series always had a simple yet very deep control scheme and the battle system is the best real time battles system ever on RPG yet (if youy say what about star ocean i'll hate you). the story is is very long and intresting one but the one who plays the game will love the graphic, just how amazing cell shadibg can be and the perfect modelled background distinguish it self from among other RPGs, if you have gamecube you defenetly need this game, just take my word...... or try it for your self.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awekning, Playstation 2;

If you are like me, your friend is a gamer eho likes the crappy GTA games and just buy the Playstation2 just for that game, and you now they are idiots, then there is one way to counter them, thats right i couldn't care less about them but if you want to, its Devil May Cry 3, thats game just blow the whole GTA things out of the with the killer soundtrack (the devils cry is my favourite song in a videogame history) and awsome/stylish battle system that game just shows how capcom is so talented, dante is one of the far most cooltalking dude on the planet of the videogame (i just like when he grabs ladys leg while she's falling from upwards and says to her : - no wonder the skies look so funny, it rains waome these days, thats was just soooo cool) and vergil being the most dark hearted villen on the planet, and dude there twins. DMC is by far the best gothic/stilish/metal/devil game of all time.

Legend of Zelda: Ocrania of Time, Nintendo 64: -

this series is amzing (do i have to tell you that), no series can not do a zelda whoever they are ( and yes even the-game-that-i-don't-like-it-because-of-xbox Halo) and the best example of that is Ocarani of Time, that game was beutiful, the gamplay was perfect, the sound track was amzing, link is one of hell of a badass and by far the best game on that system, what the hell am talking about, evryone knows that. well well do this for you as a favor: if nintendo wii comes out, buy it just to download this game.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Playstation 2: -

now THIS is what i call telling a story with a cinamatic cutscine that even hollywood can't even pull of, throw in the most memorible character of all time into mix (i'll bet you will forget about who is David Beckham after playing this game) and mix it with excellent graphic detail and sound acting and effects, welcome to Hideo Kojiam's perfect fantasy world of spying which called Metal Gear Solid, no one can do what this genius has did, 20 hours of a deep story with emotions, betrayel, sorrow, pain, and loss. solid snake who should be a dog of the military has a heart which doesn't know who to trust, to love and to hate, you think that about solid snake, then you are wrong, if bond had his bravery and smartness..... you know the rest, if you want a good story play metal game solis trilogy.

Goldeneye 007, Nintendo 64: -

Who said Playstation was better than Nintendo? dude, the diffrence between PS and N64 is Goldeneye, this game just made the FPS on the consol works, the graphic was so detailed that i forgot playing Nintendo 64, the game was so long that it will put Final Fantasy X into the corner of shame, the multiplayer was so awsome that i swore that i will never play an online multiplayer game (like Halo) and it was so hard that i will look to Metroid Prime as easy game (and belive MP was a hard on). A game that makes UT developer says we are nothing (did they said that? don't take my word now) a game that says to half-life 2: you'r crap. this game is truly clasic that no FPS game can come near of it (killzone came close....hahahah:lol:)

Resident Evil 4, Gamcube: -

The game that i admire so much that it beated Goldeneye 007 from the top spot (i was suprised how good it was), this game is the most atmospheric game that it will throw you at world where you feel that YOU are Leon S.Kennedy, speaking of him, he is what i call a secret agent/hero, he is not a RPG like hero where they are so perfect that be sure that they will save the world and not so silly like sam fisher where he think he is so cool, he is like hero/human hero. And what about the creators in that? well guess what; its a Resident evil game after all, expect the whole art style that it will freak you out and you right, its not as sceary as silent hill games, hell its not scary as the renake of the firs Resident evil, but its itense after you see dosen of folks surrunding you trying to kill you or the incredible bosses you fight, this game is truly an epic game where the gameplay blanced very well and the weapon/item managment is very deep well thougth, the sound is so creepy that you will hear the roar of the los illiminados guys talking to them self in spanish and this game is a one long game, it takes at least 20 hour to complete and boy, you will come back for more evry time, this game deserves top place of videogameses mountain, am so embarissing that i live in england where RE4 just sold 400,000 copies because its on the cube, england is where a hardcore gamer bis a burried one (no offence though), and dude Ada is hot.

So there you have my favourite games of all time you may yell at me and say where is Super Smash Bros. Melee and i will say yes that game rocks but i don't have a single idea why, and am not a casual player who just buy Halo and GTA games, those games doesn't look so special to me at all, so till the next time, see you all, and remember:  Killer 7 is one hell of a voilent game that i will never play it again (but i will have it as one of my collection).

*getting back to play Killer 7*

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS) Review

an avarage joe reviewer: -

This will be… a slog of a review. But it has to be. It has been hard. The conclusion is difficult. The game is unconventional. The reasons… follow.

As an overview, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney is an adventure game based on court proceedings. Phoenix Wright is the main character (mysteriously also known as ‘Nick’); an up-and-coming defence attourney. He must use his wits and his friends in order to get to the bottom of every case presented before him, and find his defendant ‘NOT GUILTY.’ So then, on to business. The prosecution calls ProfessorLesser to the stand. Professor… please testify.

Very well. These, your Honour, are the simple, conclusive facts:

1) There are only 5 cases. No more, no less. And for the most part, they are about as difficult and involved as reading a book.

2) You do not play Phoenix Wright. Consistently, that is. As a player, you are forced, without warning or reason, through a variety of perspectives, in every case being thoroughly confusing and tooth-gnashingly frustrating. The practical upshot of this is that the game never credits you for your own skills of deduction, nor gives you any influence on the proceedings at hand. It detracts from the experience a great deal, and will put a good many of you readers off.

3) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney is not a game. The analogy in point 1) is relevant – this ‘game’ is in fact a book. Events will happen linearly, whether you want them to or not. It is even extremely difficult to fail – though you are given 5 ‘penalties’ in court, you will either know instantly what to do, or have no idea, relying on quicksave trial-and-error to proceed. Which leads me onto the next point…

4) Though it is near-impossible to fail, this does not mean the game is easy – it mostly is, but at times, it is punishingly hard. It doesn’t matter, you’ll either work it out eventually by chance, or give up. A significant flaw, though. Often you will find yourself having no clue how you are meant to prove something in court, as the cases are so convoluted there can be no human way to know. Other times, out of court, there is no indication whatsoever of how to proceed.

5) The game is never clear whether it wants you to work things out for yourself or not. One thing is clear, however. When it does want you to, it’s impossible. When it doesn’t want you to (preferring instead to deliver this part of the case as narrative – see point 2), you’ve already done it, and feel robbed of credit.

6) You have to quit the game to save. You have to leave subsets of locations to return to a hub, then onto separate locations. You have to navigate an awful lot of menus to perform simple actions.

7) The graphics are largely static, and what few animations there are are simply repeated for each character. The bright colours involved considerably undermine the underlying seriousness and horror of each murder trial.

8) In all but the last case, there is absolutely no need for this game to be on the DS.

9) The first case is incredibly short, and the third case incredibly tiresome.

The prosecution rests, your Honour.

It seems a flawless testimony to me. Yes, the facts of this matter are quite clear. The game shows remorseless error in several departments, and fails to address obvious flaws, minor though they may be. This forum therefore finds Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney to be a…

4/10

Phoenix Wright:

OBJECTION!!!

Your Honour, the defence requests to exercise his right to cross-examine the gamer! Firstly, the prosecution’s summary of the game is pitifully dismissive! The game is played out in a series of chapters for each episode, or case. What these episodes essentially add up to is the oscillation between investigation and trial. During investigation, the player will delve into the heart of the crime, discovering witnesses, evidence, and entertaining skits.

During trial, the prosecution will call witnesses to testify. Phoenix will then proceed with his cross-examination, during which he can press the witness to elaborate on their points (and place them under stress), or present evidence to point out contradictions in the witness’ testimony. This is a fuller and more accurate summary of the game. So then…

Members of the forum… this is what Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney is all about:

The Prosecution claimed:
There are only 5 cases. No more, no less. And for the most part, they are about as difficult and involved as reading a book.

HOLD IT!

Your Honour, the issue here is quality, not quantity! Although, now you mention it… these episodes can last a great length of time! There may be only 5 episodes, but they last a good while long indeed. You will certainly feel like you’ve played through your money’s worth by the end of it. And as for ‘difficulty’, well… I will address this later. As for involvement… (hmm, the argue seems pretty airtight. I’d better steer away from this or it’ll damage my case…) ah, er… I mean, moving on!

The Prosecution claimed:
You do not play Phoenix Wright.

HOLD IT!

Not at all! The defence asks the prosecution… what reason is there for the player to control a character?! While what the prosecution has said is true, it is irrelevant to this case! It is merely a mechanic of the game that the player is expected to shift perspectives in order to make the most of the experience. For the most part, it is expected that the player lets the story unfold before him/her, as cases and trials progress. The player’s input is to occasionally guide Phoenix’s hand, asking the right questions here, providing the correct evidence there, and ultimately allowing the proceedings to, ah, er… proceed!

The Prosecution claimed:
Though it is near-impossible to fail, this does not mean the game is easy – it mostly is, but at times, it is punishingly hard.

HOLD IT!

Your Honour, recall the prosecution’s opening statement… “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney is an adventure game…”! Steep difficulty spikes are inherent of the genre! They provide the need for cerebral input – for the mental probing of the gamer to needle his way deeper into the case. A chance to reflect on facts and gain an understanding of the scenario as it stands. More than anything, it provides the feeling of satisfaction once overcome, and that is the issue here. That is what challenge is all about.

The Prosecution claimed:
You have to quit the game to save. You have to leave subsets of locations to return to a hub, then onto separate locations. You have to navigate an awful lot of menus to perform simple actions.

HOLD IT!

These are trivial claims, your Honour! Every gamer worth his salt knows that such things are forgivable should the game provide an experience of worth such to compensate the inconvenience! Furthermore, saving the game is possible in 98% of any instance throughout the game, so no need for save points. Saving is done quickly, even considering the time taken to re-enter the game proper. The labyrinth of locations is more a simple branched corridor, and is only evident in 3 out of the 5 cases. The menus are quickly and efficiently navigated using the stylus.

The Prosecution claimed:
The graphics are largely static, and what few animations there are are simply repeated for each character. The bright colours involved considerably undermine the underlying seriousness and horror of each murder trial.

…OBJECTION!!!

Your Honour, the prosecution’s claims here are horrendously inaccurate! Such… such sheer blasphemy is unforgivable! Unforgivable! The graphics used in this game are of the kind most functional that I have ever seen! More than that, they are bright, detailed, pleasing to the eye and handled with an exceptional degree of emphatic direction! Everything does exactly what it needs to, when it needs to. And as for the repetitive animations – they are the cherry on the icing on the cake. They are the epitome of expressive body language, conveying in perhaps 5 frames what most authors would struggle to convey in a paragraph! This click of a hand, the slamming of a desk, the wide-eyed disbelief, the bending-double in recoil, the overstated outburst of anger… and all done in that loving, animé fashion that so many of us gamers know so well. Make no mistake… if anything, graphics are Phoenix’s strongest department.

The Prosecution claimed:
In all but the last case, there is absolutely no need for this game to be on the DS.

HOLD IT!

Your Honour… the prosecution is clearly a PSP fanboy!. To overlook the simple importance of being able to select an option by touching it, to examine a scene by sweeping over it… and the shouting. Oh, for the shouting. With the stylus and the mic, the game feels so much more… current. In situ, as it were. The DS makes this game the experience it is.

The Prosecution claimed:
The first case is incredibly short, and the third case incredibly tiresome.

OBJECTION!!!

This is clearly… a matter of taste! Of course the first case is short, it’s a bleedin’ tutorial, and it does its job well! For my part, it’s true, the third case was the one to reveal the game’s ugly flaws. But… the fourth case is exceptional. Truly a cut above. Touching to the last, it is a story so perfect, yet so understated, that it may just well last with you forever.

In addition, your Honour, the defence has this to add: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney is gold. Those of you who’ve looked ahead to my score will now be confused, but regardless of score, there is no changing the fact that this game is gold. It certainly has flaws, but these are inherent, and are just to be borne like an ugly scar. Live with it. The rest of the game is fantastic.

The episode I have tried to portray above touches on the proceedings in a court trial… but comes nowhere close to the emotions that fly, the exhilaration as you begin to tip the scale, or the actual scripting itself, which is superb, and perfectly complemented by the graphics, characters and animations. All of this is in turn complemented by the frankly amazing score, the likes of which I can’t say has ever been better suited to a game. Just play it and find out for yourself. Music can’t be described in prose anyway.

You will come away from this game having had some of it rub off on your personality. I think I have shown this recently around the forums with my overly-critical edge and an unwillingness to cease shouting ‘Objection!’ I hope, in this lengthy drama of a review, I have come some way to doing the game… justice.

9/10

what i think about gamespot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi!

Well…. the subject this time will be about gamespot and how well they do and I think it’s very good ting to talk about.

Firstival I would talk about the positive thing:-

Gamespot is doing well for it’s covering to many thing the lastest to event ((konami and thq)) was one of the best I ever

Read it. And its was a very good job what gamespot doing there.

The previews is very well written and the most incredible previews comes from Ricardo Torres.

The videos and spcial feutres are over the top and most thing is good thing thanks to crews.

Secondival is the negetiv thing :-

Hiding somehing is not that good so am gonna talk about it right away……………the reviews is not perfect.

Gamespot is trying so hard to not giving the top games a top score, I know that giving the game points is very

Difficult.

for example :-

Resident evil 4: the gameplay is the best ever on a game like RE4,perfect view, smoth gameplay and good difficulty

Make the gamplay perfect. but saying “the controls feel like they're tuned just right to give the game the same sort of pacing inherent to an action horror movie” and give the gameplay 9/10 is very well…… not right. Despite that the gameplay does good

Job not only to feel like you are in the game but does good job to show every singel game how to offer THE gameplay.

Baten kaitos: eternal wings and the lost ocean: aaaahhh…… a rpg …… finaly tow rpg from namc in less than 6 months

And how great is those to games: this and tales of symphonia. But i will talk about the reviwe.

I thik the worst thing to do with tis game is to give a score 8,2/10. and that’s god thing but not good enough.

The game has the best rpg garphics since final fantasy X. but give the games garphic 9/10 is unfair despite how well

The game work with gamecube hardware. In matter fact it’s one of the prettiest game ever to hit the cube and it’s fly

Well with Metroid prime, Resident evil and the Legend of zelda: the wind waker.

While it’s not the graphic only. The sound also is ear candy and ign.com put that game one of the best sound in 2004

Catogory. So what the problem.

OK i think thats enough by now but maybe i will write part 2 of this discussion MAYBE……………………. .

bye
