The Hard Drive is fine, and the DVD drive is fine.
I don't know much about Intel Motherboards, but in order to play the latest games with playable settings, you will need a new CPU, Video Card, and at least an additional 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Maybe someone with more knowledge of Motherboards that are capable with the Pentium 4 series can help you out.
So basically if your motherboard does not support any type of Dual Core CPU, you will probably need a new one. And if it does not support PCI-e Vidoe Cards, you will probably need a new one.
