I've just recently started playing more persistent world games, and I find that they have pretty good single player experiences in the right games. I think a lot of current MMO's give the style of game a bad wrap. Plus this doesn't have a publisher, I expect more games to start moving towards the micro transaction model.

Yeah I wouldn't discount it completely as an MMO. I think the MMO market is changing, and you might see it as a completely new experience then what we are used to for MMOs. Is your main issue the monthly fee?
Anyone following this game, Black Prophecy?
Looks like a pretty sweet Space MMO with real time combat. Hope it gets a publisher, and we can get a solid release date.
Because the properties have recognizeable names and existing fan bases, and they were able to get the movie rights for a decent price. It's just business.
Although isn't it still kind of fun to see some games turned into movies, even if they are often a little cheeseball?
Its easier to be evil, more so when you get strong. You can take what you want, and kill who you want.
But I finished it as good, and there are some nice rewards for that as well.
I want a list of my online friends, not have to scroll through dozens of avatars one at a time. bubnux
NXE doesn't take that away, you can still hit your Guide button in or out of a game, and get the same list of friends (without avatars). You still have full guide functionality (with the blade interface) in any game to view friends, messages, custom soundtracks and quick links to everything in the dash.
