Ok, So I played the demo when I was a kid, and to sum it up:

You Controlled a Girl who lured people into a castle to kill them as brutally possible for points. the points you got were used to purchase deadlier weapons and traps to use. for an example of some of the crazy things that could be done, one example of a possible trap that could be done is luring someone into a Bear Trap, then turning on an electric floor they are on, while shooting them with arrows before finally dropping a Rock on their head.

it was like a human Mouse Trap, and I feel like hunting it down to try the full thing.

It's odd how you include 12 and 8, games that were usually considered black sheep, yet entirely skip Final Fantasy II, which IS the black sheep.

very cryptic on where you went, Drastic change in the leveling system(I kinda liked it, but not so much anyone else), bland storyline, and of course the infamous Grind Walls(where if you step even an inch too far you get murdered by overpowered enemies), yet it's not even a Dishonorable mention.

hmm, now creationwise, I would Suggest LittleBigPlanet, possibly LittleBigPlanet 2 as it allows you to create games outside the platformer Genre(one guy actually recreated FF7 with that thing!)

Medieval game wise, one game series I would suggest is, ironically, Medievil. both games are violent, but in a cartoony fashion and you are mostly cutting up Zombies and the like , so if your parents are OK with games that have undead characters that may be worth a look(both are on PSN, btw.)

beyond that, perhaps Shadow of the Colossus or White Knight Chronicles may fit your fancy.

I'm going to rebuke 2 common suggestions before stating mine:

Darkstalkers: OH MAN I would love to see this return! however, much like Nintendo with F-Zero, the root of the issue comes from the fact that it has seen poor sales, and unlike F-Zero where it dwindled after doing well, DS was a constant low seller...and going by how in depth the animations of those games are, it is probably not cheap to make one. back it up with Capcom just coming back from the brink of financial woes and you can see why they are hesitant about the thing.

Earthbound/Mother: Now this series is an interesting case-the main reason why I am against making more is because the series is finished-literally. Itoi told the story he wanted to tell, and it ended with complete closure. besides, I think the last thing anyone wants is to see another trilogy at risk of having it's reputation tarnished after ending on a high note( Toy Story fans know what I am talking about.)

Now, for what I would like to see come back:

Commander Keen

Crash Bandicoot

Power Stone

The Outfoxies

PaRappa The Rapper

Legacy of Kain(no, Nosgoth doesn't count)

Viewtiful Joe

Startropics

Mysterious Masamune Castle

Prince of Persia

On one hand, it's pretty cool that Activision is giving this series another chance. hopefully their screwup in 2009 will teach them to do do better.

On the other hand, this might possibly have some of the worst musical lineup in the series to date(Carrie Underwood?? Really?)

ultimately the best thing to come out of this is that it opens the gateway to more series being revived *cough*Crash Bandicoot*cough*

Oh gawd I need that Box art.

I feel the packs kinda had a missed oppertunity, as it would have made more sense if TP pack's character was Restored Midna, and the MM pack was Majora/Skull Kid and Tingle.

Still need Vaati, Ravio,Hilda, and Medlii or Makar to boot.

we dont know which characters will be included in the dlc.

From what I read, it's supposed to be playable versions of the bosses.

I hope I'm wrong just for that reason though.

no...those will be free characters coming with patch that is coming in oct...

the dlc will be separate.

Oh, well then in that case sign me the Hell back on the hype train!

The New 3DS was inevitable, but marketed kinda badly. ity follows the same trend as the prior handheld era to a T(Game Boy=DS=3DS, GBMicro=DS Lite=2DS, Game Boy Color=DSi=3DS XL, Game Boy Advance=DSiXL=N3DS) but some were left with a sour taste thinking that they were essentially playing an incomplete prototype handheld while the real deal was hiding away, when it's not the case. Doesn't help that they also flat out gave up on 3D also(especially since Link Between Worlds was originally going to have puzzles that utilized the 3D effect).
