The Idiots in my state finally got the ****ing budget passed

I'm sure most of heard that New Jersey's government completely shut down since they couldn't pass the budget.  Well, the legislature finally came up with one today that our tool of a Governor, Jon Corzine, was willing to sign.

The new budget includes an increase of the NJ sales tax from 6% to 7% to dig us out of the $4.5 BILLION deficit in our state.  This deficit was of course caused by a bunch of idiot liberals who control the state and have no restraint when it comes to spending and ultimately wasting our tax dollars.

Half of the money generated from the tax increase will go towards offsetting our insane property taxes (the average homeowner pays $10,000/yr in property taxes compared to states such as Florida where people pay $300/yr.  When it comes out, we will most likely get about $200 back, which won't do ****.

For some reason, they refuse to seriously consider cutting the budgets for state programs.  And they shut down all the casinnos in Atlantic City, which make 1.3 million/day for the state throught the 8% tax on winnings.

What they should do is increase the 8% tax on casino winnings and get rid of all wasteful spending, but of course that would be too logical for libs.

Hopefully all these idiots are voted out come 2007.

Stop the UN Gun Ban!!!

"They’ve gathered in New York City, the best and brightest minds in the
global gun ban movement. Oh, they don’t want you to think for a second
that they’re actually interested in your guns. Kofi Annan as much as
said so yesterday, when he told the attendees of the Small Arms Review
Conference, “This Review Conference is not negotiating a ‘global gun
ban’, nor do we wish to deny law-abiding citizens their right to bear
arms in accordance with their national laws.” Got it, gun owners?
There’s nothing to fear from the UN when it comes to your guns."

"It’s too bad for Kofi that many of the countries attending the summit
didn’t get his memo. Yesterday’s speeches were full of calls for
expanding the current agenda to include the civilian possession of
firearms. Hans Winkler, speaking on behalf of the European Union,
called the current Program of Action “the key starting point for
further action on small arms”. The ambassador from Australia, Robert
Hill, spoke glowingly of his country’s gun laws that “require the
registration and licensing of all firearms owners, prohibit a range of
automatic and semi-automatic long arms and handguns, and mandate
minimum firearms safety training and storage requirements.”"

We need to stop this threat to our second amendment freedoms.

Valedictorian's speech cut short by school district

"A local high school graduation ended with roars of protest after school officials turned the microphone off right in the middle of one of the valedictorian's speeches. The microphone cut out after the valedictorian at Foothill High made reference to God."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13419742/

This girl is the Valedictorian! She is at the top of her class.  She deserves to say whatever she wants-it is protected by the first amendment.  Whether is makes a reference to God or not, she can say it.  It is her time to thank all those that helped her in her studies.  These people include God and Christ.

What pisses me off is that the ACLU supports the decision to turn off the mic.  Why would you support this position if you are an organization that is supposed to "safeguard civil liberties".  I can see if the school mentioned Jesus in one of their speeches, but this was the girl speaking on behalf of herself, not the school.  It is her free speech.  If anything, the ACLU should be supporting the girl, not the school.  It seems that whenever Christianity comes into play, the ACLU is automatically on the opposite side, not matter what the circumstances.  This fuels my hatred for the ACLU even more.  They are just a bunch of hypocrites.  And people say that Christianity is not under attack in this country

Another Great Season of "24"

The conclusion to one of the most exciting seasons of this series was superb.  Great cliffhanger: Jack being captured by the Chinese.  There are a few unanswered questions, like what will happen to Graham, the guy who co-conspired with Logan.  Possibly when Jack inevitably escpaes next season, he will ally himself with the Chinese, since they both want Jack dead.  Can't wait to find out in January.

We are part of the "Law & Order Generation"

Anyone reading this probably has no idea what the **** I am talking about.  Let me explain:

I first heard of this terminology when listening to Colonel Chris Hughes of the US Army at a forum I recently attended.  He has spent time overseas in Iraq as a battalian commander in the 101st Airborne and was on the frontlines when we took the town of Nijaf..  He is also a strong supporter of the mission in Iraq and explained to us that the mission is going to take time.  He said that we are accustomed to seeing a case discovered, investigated and prosecuted in an hour on "Law & Order".  Obviously that is not true outside of TV.  Based on years of military experience, he said that the mission is going to take time if we want to succeed.  And it is in our country's best interest to succeed.  Let's finish what we started.

My home town was on the Sopranos last Sunday

I live in Jersey in Essex County and they actually filmed the scene when Carmella visited her parent's house last sunday across the street from my friends house. Pretty cool. And a couple episodes before that, they filmed Paulie walking out of the Scuba Diving shop on Rt. 23 in my town as well. You could clearly see Jim Dandy's BBQ ribs in the background. The scene was about 30 seconds, but they spent a whole day there shooting, trailers and everything causing a bunch of congestion on the roads.

Happy Easter!

This is the time of the year when all of us Catholics need to sit down with the family, go to church and give thanks to God for all the wonderful gifts he has given us, especially his son, Jesus Christ.

I wish you all a very happy Easter.
