I use headphones because I dont want to disturb people, but when I'm alone in the apartment its BOOM HEADSHOOT all day long.

unfortunatly there isn't a way to only have the voices come over the headset and not the game audio as well.

what you just described is a microphone not a headset. I guess you could try unplugging the audio out on your headset if you really dont want to hear anything on your headset, other than that there isn't really anything you could do.

Crysis and Half-life 2.

I would say crysis and KOTOR had excellent soundtracks that made the game much more Immersive.
